Chapter 78 Surrounded in the Dark
It sounded like something was scraping aeross the floor, getting closer and closer.
Before this, they had been moving in the dark to stay hidden. No lights. No noise.
Ensched
But now… something was clearly wrong. Robin didn’t hesitate. She pulled out a high–powered flashlight. The beam cut through the darkness. Everyone gasped.
The crash from earlier–the little girl zombie slamming into the door–made too much noise. It had drawn everything in. The entire underground parking garage was now filled with zombies.
At least forty… maybe fifty of them. They were surrounded.
“Robin, what do we do now?”
“What else?” Her voice was cold. “We kill them. All of them.”
She lifted her shovel and charged straight at the girl zombie.
Early in the outbreak, zombies weren’t that hard to kill. The real problem was fear. You had to beat that first.
Tim’s face hardened. “Then we fight!”
Robin was insanely strong. There was no way they
were going to slow her down.
They swung their shovels with everything they had. Again and again. At that moment, they had only one thought–kill. Kill the zombies. Kill them all.
There were only forty or fifty low–level zombies. Nothing special. They had just taken down one that was almost Level 2. Compared to that, these felt manageable.
Clang!
Robin’s shovel slammed into the girl zombie’s head and made a sharp metal sound.
Her expression turned solemn. Everyone knew kids were weak when they were alive. But once they turned into zombies, it was different. Like in horror movies, child spirits were always the most dangerous.
Zombies were the same.
This girl zombie was faster than the Level 2 one she had killed earlier. Stronger too. More ag Being smaller made her quick. She had already dodged Robin’s attacks several times.
Robin glanced at her shovel. She saw the edge was already bent.
Seriously?
Couldn’t the system give me a more decent weapon?.
The thought flashed through her mind, but there was no me to think more.
The girl zombie lunged forward again. Her black, glossy nails aimed straight for Robin’s chest.

Chapter 78-86rrounded in the Dark
Robin bent backward and dodged. At the same time, she kicked upward, sending the girl zombie flying into the air.
In that split second, Robin flipped her hand–a light crossbow appeared.
Whoosh!
The steel bolt shot forward and pierced up through the zombie’s jaw with perfect aim. The force pushed her backward through the air.
Even then, it didn’t die. But that wasn’t Robin’s purpose.
She didn’t stop here. Purple lightning burst from her hand and struck the end of the bolt.
Electricity surged along it and went straight into the zombie’s brain.
The girl zombie froze. Black smoke poured from her mouth. Then she dropped. Dead at last.
Robin let out a quiet breath. A Level 2 zombie of this strength–just as expected–contained a crystal.
And not only that. The crystal this time was about the size of a thumb. Its color was a little less gray too.
She turned to look–Ella and the others had almost taken care of the thirty or so zombies nearby.
Clang!
Dane drove his shovel straight into a zombie’s chest. Aharsh cracking sound followed. The ribs shattered completely. Its upper and lower body were barely held together by a few strips of flesh.
