Chapter 79 A Mother’s Final Choice
A bare skull lay off to the side, tangled in a clump of long hair. The ribcage had been torn open by force. Every bone looked chewed clean, even the soft joints.
Finger and toe bones were scattered across the floor, each one clear and separate.
The shape of the pelvis suggested that the remains likely belonged to an adult woman.
Robin’s eyes stopped on something in the corner–a stuffed teddy bear, worn and almost unrecognizable.
There was a little bow stitched onto its head. It wore the same puffy dress as the little girl zombie from before.
A thought hit her.
“You think…”
Ella lowered her gaze. Her voice sounded heavy. “Could that girl zombie happen to be this woman’s daughter?”
The long stairwell was sealed on both ends. The doors were shut but not locked.
The girl wouldn’t have been able to open them. But the woman, when she was alive, could have. She just didn’t.
Blood covered the floor and wails, sprayed everywhere. But looking closer, all the blood had come from the same direction.
The woman hadn’t even tried to run.
Maybe she thought dying by her daughter’s bite was better than being torn apart by strangers.
Ella suddenly turned and walked out.
After a while, she came back, dragging the girl zombie’s body with her.
She placed the small body beside the bones. Ella took a deep breath. “Let’s go.”
The underground parking garage was on B2. Bl held a large supermarket.
And on the second floor of the building above was the women’s clothing section. “Anyone interested in this card? No? Haha, then I’m playing it. Pair of twos! I win again! Ronald Savage slammed his cards down and leaned back on a small stool, a cigarete hanging mouth. His face was full of pride.

“Yeah, how are we supposed to beat you? That’s five wins in a row!”
Even though they lost, ne one looked upset. Instead, they kept praising him.
Ronald enjoyed every second of it. He leaned back a little more. A woman quickly stepped in and started rubbing his shoulders.
A skinny man pushed forward, grinning like a lackey. “I can’t even imagine it. With your skills, Boss, before. the apocalypse, you must’ve ruled the casino tables!”
He spoke with excitement, expecting praise. But the moment he finished, Ronald’s face suddenly turned cold. The others quickly stepped back. They looked nervous, but they were enjoying the misfortune that was about to befall that skinny man.
The skinny man’s smile froze. A chill ran through him. “W–what’s wrong?” he stammered.
Ronald let out a cold laugh. Then he stood up and slapped him hard across the face.
Smack!
The force was so strong it spun the man halfway around. He staggered and dropped to the floor.
His ears rang. His vision went black. It felt like his brain had been shaken loose.
He couldn’t understand it. Everyone had been flattering Ronald. His words had even sounded better than the others. So why did Ronald hit him?
Ronald’s expression turned vicious. He stood in front of the skinny man like a wall, heavy and suffocating.
His face twisted with anger. “Are you making fun of me?”
The skinny man panicked. “Boss, no! I swear I wouldn’t dare! I would never do that! You’re strong–I
