The Greenwood family never expected Sebastian's parents to visit their home again with Sebastian in tow. They even brought gifts, using the excuse of checking on Isla.

Mr. and Mrs. Greenwood still held a massive grudge against Sebastian. To them, his actions were no different from kicking Isla when she was down. It would have been one thing if he simply refused to help, but releasing that public statement was like throwing her right under the bus.

Because of this, they gave the Remington family the cold shoulder.

But Sebastian's mother was a master of social grace. She acted as if she didn't notice their icy attitude, making polite small talk and chatting about business just like old times. Finally, when the timing felt right, she casually suggested that the two families should spend the holidays together, giving the young people a chance to bond.

"That won't be necessary," Mr. Greenwood said.

"Oh?" Sebastian's mother smiled. "Do you have other plans?"

"Yes," Mr. Greenwood replied. "We're going to Cresthaven."

"Cresthaven?" Sebastian's mother said, her smile unwavering. "That sounds lovely. Sebastian actually used to dance with the Cresthaven Performing Arts Troupe. Whenever we visit, it's strictly for business, so we've never had the chance to properly tour the area."

"Sorry, but we already made plans with someone else. It really wouldn't be convenient," Mr. Greenwood said, still fuming. He was determined to reject them at every turn.

"Oh? Do you have relatives in Cresthaven? I've never heard you mention them!" Sebastian's mother pressed on, relentlessly pushing for her son's sake, abandoning all pretense of subtlety.

She had a point. The two families had been close for decades; they knew exactly who each other's relatives were.

"No." Mr. Greenwood was just trying to annoy the Remingtons, but he couldn't invent a fake relative on the spot. Since they knew each other's family trees inside and out, he decided to just brag. "The current CEO of Rossi Group, Mr. Rossi, is going to be in Cresthaven. He invited our family over for a vacation, and Isla will be joining us."

"Mr. Rossi?" Sebastian's mother paused, slightly taken aback.

"That's right. He's looking to invest in tech companies and has a great relationship with Isla's brother, Marvin." Mr. Greenwood ignored the frantic signals his wife was giving him and kept talking, riding the high of his own boast. "Plus, Mr. Rossi is single. He even saw Isla perform abroad once."
