Chapter 349 The Doctor’s Price
Hanson was incredulous. “It was you…”
“Yes, it was me.”
Hanson smiled. “Dr. Tatiana, your aim isn’t bad. Now, treat my wounds…”
The next second, the dark muzzle of the gun was aimed at his head.
Hanson’s smile froze.
But Tatiana smiled. “You want me to save you?”
Hanson had never imagined he would be double–crossed like this.
“Dr. Tatiana, if I die, you won’t live either. There’s no need for this”
Tatiana was noncommittal. “Mm, true. You’re right.”
As Hanson spoke, he slowly reached for his gun.
“You’d better not move. Otherwise, if you die here, no one will know I did it.”
Hanson’s movement froze.
“Let’s make a deal.”
Tatiana tossed him a bottle, not moving any closer.

In close combat, she was no match for Hanson, which was why her gun remained trained on him the entire
time.
“Take it.”
“Dr. Tatiana, I…”
“I said, take it.”
Hanson’s face was grim, but he eventually picked up the bottle, shook out the contents–a dark, round pill- and swallowed it.
Tatiana asked again, “What do you feel? If you answer incorrectly, it means you’re holding the pill under your tongue, and I’ll kill you anyway.”
Hanson’s face contorted, but he swallowed it down.
Before long, a hot pain began in his stomach.
He roared, “What did you give me?”
She lowered the gun. “It’s nothing, just a type of medicine. You’ll need to take an antidote every seven days. Without it, the parasites in the pill will eat your insides. You’ll die in agony.”

She paused. “You can choose not to believe me and kill me now. But your choice is to either die in seven days, or die right now from blood loss.”
He would die either way.
Hanson relented, relaxing his grip on his own gun.
Tatiana quickly applied first aid to stop the bleeding and said, “I’m giving you a shot of adrenaline. You’ll be able to last for ten minutes. Go out and rally your men, or we’ll lose.”
Hanson gave her a surprised look, then looked away. “I don’t need to be told.”
He stood up, grabbed a long cutlass, and sliced off Rob’s head, Holding it in his hand, he walked out onto the top deck, raised the head high, and roared, “Kill them all!”
The crew, whose morale had been low, were suddenly energized, as if they’d been shot full of adrenaline, and began a ferocious counter–attack.
Until the battle was finally over.
Tatiana leaned against the railing and let out a long, heavy breath. But she had one more thing to do. She forced herself to stand and walked toward Hanson.
He was still on his feet from the adrenaline, showing no sign of the two bullets he’d taken, but he was still wary of her.
She lowered her voice and said quickly, “Quick, grab my hand!”
Hanson froze. He gave her a strange look. Could this woman have a thing for me?
“Hurry! Grab my hand and raise it!”
She hadn’t gone through all that trouble just to hide her deeds! She wanted the credit!
“Do you want your antidote or not?”
Resigned, Hanson had no choice but to grab her wrist and raise it
To raise a hand at the moment of victory… everyone understood what it meant. Especially since Dr. Tatiana had just saved so many of them.
Someone shouted first, “A salute for Dr. Tatiana!”
Everyone who could move grabbed their guns and fired into the air, frightening away a large flock of
seabirds.
This was the pirates‘ highest salute.
It was also the first time they had ever made such a gesture for a woman.
In the sunlight, Tatiana’s smile was exceptionally bright, her white teeth dazzling.
Far away, a certain CEO had no idea his real wife was about to become a pirate’s second–in–command…

The Residence.
Hubert had an upset stomach, so he didn’t go to preschool and was resting at home.
As his older sister, Ann was worried and didn’t want to go either. She wanted to stay home with Hubert, but her mommy stopped her.
“You just started. I heard the teacher assigned you a difficult project. Wouldn’t it be bad to be absent? Why don’t you go, and when you come back, you can tell Hubert about it to cheer him up.”
