“No, just some girl I met. She’s not in the business.”

“She’s a knockout. You sure you don’t want to do something with that?”

Sandra knew exactly what she was getting at and shot her a warning look. “Don’t even start. She’s not into the scene, and she’s married.”

“Married? Seriously?”

“Yeah. And she’s obsessed with him. Drop it.”

“Just asking. Relax.”

Sandra stayed firm. “I’m serious. I brought her here, so don’t target her. She isn’t someone you want to screw with.”

“What, she’s got backup?”

“Not exactly.”

“Then who cares? You’re acting like she’s untouchable.”

“It’s not about who she knows,” Sandra muttered. “She’ll just break you herself.”

Cherlene didn’t catch the last part; she was already off to get another drink. Sandra sighed, figuring she’d stick around for one more and then get out.

Across the room, Tammy had heard enough. She was about to tell the guys around her to get lost when a voice came from her right.

A girl like you shouldn’t be sitting here without a drink.”

Tammy didn’t look up. A guy with a thick gold chain pushed a glass toward her, his eyes crawling over her.

“This one’s on me.”

He shoved the drink so hard a few drops splashed onto her hand.

‘Oops. My bad. Let me get that.”

He reached for her hand. Tammy pulled back instantly, her eyes going cold. “Don’t. I don’t drink.”

She pushed the glass back.

‘Don’t be like that. Let’s just talk.” The guy wouldn’t take the hint and reached for her shoulder.

The second he touched her, Tammy moved. She was a blur. She grabbed his wrist and twisted.

He went down hard, taking the glass table with him. The room went silent.

The guy started swearing, trying to get up. “You bitch! You’re dead!”

Tammy leaned over, caught the finger he was pointing at her, and snapped it.

The scream ripped through the room. His finger was bent back at an angle.

“I said I don’t drink.”

Her voice was flat.

“And I don’t like people pointing at me. Got it?”

He lost it, grabbing a glass to throw. Tammy was faster She smashed another glass against the bar and held the jagged edge to his throat.

She wasn’t yelling. She looked like she’d gut him and move on.

The guy froze, sweat breaking out on his forehead. He realized she wasn’t bluffing.

Sandra rushed over. “Tammy! Stop! It’s fine! He’s done!”

Tammy didn’t look away from him until he finally broke, stammering out a plea. “I’m sorry! I won’t touch you again!”

Tammy tossed the broken glass aside. “Should have thought of that sooner.”

The guy and his friends scrambled out of the suite. The rest of the room just stared at her.

Sandra pulled her back to the seat. “What was that?”

‘I told him no. He didn’t listen.”

Then he got what he asked for.”

“This place is trash,” Tammy muttered.

“I know. Let’s go.”

They were about to leave when Cherlene ran over. “Wait! Don’t go yet! To make up for that, I’ve got a show coming in. You’re going to want to see this.”

“What show?”

“Just watch.”

The doors opened and a line of shirtless guys walked in. They were all lean, hard muscle.
