Chapter 512 The Ex–Girlfriend
The ones who had been planning a coup were now sick to their stomachs with regret.
Who the hell said Norman was dead?
Who said the Cole family was a mess and their new leader was a pushover?
Who said this was the perfect time to swoop in and carve up the family’s assets?
The plan sounded great in theory, but it only worked if Norman was actually dead. Now that he was standing there very much alive, there was nothing left to carve up.
Everyone in the overseas scene knew how terrifying Norman was. This was the man who had been exiled to the Arctic and still had the iron fist to come back and scrub the family’s reputation clean.
As long as he was breathing, they didn’t stand a chance.
Suddenly, everyone was on their best behavior.
“Sir, this is all a misunderstanding. I have no problem with you taking over. Just say the word and I’m at your service.”
Norman didn’t say a word.
His silence made them break out in a cold sweat. They were spiraling, trying to figure out what he was thinking. Did he know about their plot? Was he waiting for them to show some sincerity?
One guy finally caught on and stepped forward. “Sir, I recently picked up two plots of land in the financial district. Great location. I’d like to give them to you as an early birthday present.”
Norman finally looked at him. “Not bad.”
That was all it took for the guy to look like he had just won the lottery. “I’m glad you like them, Sir.”
The others cursed him for being a suck–up, but they didn’t want to be the next target on Norman’s list. They started tripping over each other to offer gifts.
‘Sir, I just got some antiques…”
‘Sir, I bought a limited–edition supercar last month. It’s perfect for you…”
‘I have a villa on the mountain…”
They were doing everything they could to get on his good side and distance themselves from any Suspicion.
Norman took it all.
His mood was actually starting to improve. He wanted to marry Flowie and he couldn’t show up empty- handed. He didn’t have much before, but now that he did, he was going to give her the best dowry

He could already see her face lighting up when he handed her these gifts. He could hardly wait.
“Norman.”
A soft, delicate voice drifted over.
The crowd exchanged looks, but Norman didn’t even turn around. He looked at the last guy who hadn’t offered anything yet. “And you? Where’s your sincerity?”
The guy jumped. “I just started an entertainment agency. I just signed a group of girls, I can send them…”
“Shut up. Get out.”
The guy panicked. “If you don’t like the rookies, I have A–list actresses, singers…
“I said get out. Are you deaf?”
His voice turned ice–cold. The threat in his eyes was unmistakable.
The man scrambled back, terrified for his life.
The people around them held their breath. They were all wondering the same thing. Since when did the notorious playboy Norman turn down women?
Back before he was exiled, Norman was a legendary flirt. He had a thing for actresses and supermodels and was always in the tabloids. He was rich, handsome, and powerful. Women used to line up for a shot at him.
Even after he came back and settled down a bit, he still had his favorites, like the woman walking up to him right now.
Seeing him ignore her, the woman tried again, her voice cracking as if she were about to cry. “You’re back. Why didn’t you tell me?”
Norman finally looked at her and winced internally.
She’s so pretentious.
While everyone else wore standard masks, she wore an expensive, diamond–studded butterfly mask that only covered half her face. It showed off her sharp chin and perfect lips. She was a beauty, but the mask felt like a calculated move to get attention.
Between the mask and the tight white mermaid dress, she was trying very hard to be the center of attention.
She’s incredibly pretentious.
Norman searched his memory for the files James had given him. Her name was Philomena Cunk. A famous mixed–race actress.
Right. My ex–girlfriend.
