Chapter 582 A Safe Harbor

Gordon had been thinking about the kids constantly. Now, he finally got to see them.
Tatiana was in no rush to leave. She spent the entire day at the hospital, keeping the children by Gordon’s side. She even borrowed the hospital kitchen to cook a nutritious meal for him. Gordon, who usually had no appetite, actually finished half a bowl of rice.
Ann and Hubert had brought gifts and spent the day chatting with him. Their constant chatter kept him smiling the whole time. Watching them, Tatiana felt a wave of relief mixed with guilt.
Regardless of her relationship with Jasper, Gordon had always been wonderful to the children. He was a devoted great–grandfather. She realized she should have brought them to see him more often. She decided she would make up for it now that she had time.
As it grew dark and Gordon began to look tired, Tatiana prepared to take the children home. Gordon was reluctant to see them go but insisted she take them back.
“Tatiana, do not come back tomorrow. I am doing fine here.”
His eyes told a different story. He clearly missed the kids. He was simply worried that the current mess surrounding the Jackson family would drag them down.
Tatiana reached out and gently tucked him in. “Grandpa, we will be back to see you tomorrow.”
“Tatiana!”
“Shh. Grandpa, I am not the same person I used to be. Trust me, okay? Besides, do you not miss Ann and Hubert?”
Gordon could not bring himself to say no. He missed them terribly. Finally, he gave in. “Tomorrow, I want to eat some snacks.”
Tatiana smiled. “Okay, I will make some for you.”
She led the children away. Gordon watched them leave, murmuring to himself, “Tatiana raised them so well… so well.”
He felt lucky to have such a granddaughter–in–law, even if some people wanted to ruin that happiness.
The next day, a paparazzi photo of the three of them at the hospital surfaced. The headline was disgusting.
“Mrs. Jackson Returns with Kids to Fight for the Family Inheritance!”

The photos were blurry, and since Tatiana was wearing a hat and sunglasses, her face was barely visible. But Ann and Hubert’s faces were clear.
Tatiana was furious. Her children were her red line.
“Destroy those media outlets. I do not want to see this happen a second time.”
She moved fast to have the reports taken down, but the photos had already spread. Netizens were calling them the fallen prince and princess, using the children to mock the ruined Jackson family. While most people felt sorry for them because they looked so striking even in blurry photos, a small group of trolls posted vicious comments.
Ann and Hubert handled those accounts themselves.
Gordon called her, sounding overwhelmed with guilt and despair. Tatiana sensed the lack of will in his voice and made an instant decision. She secretly moved Gordon out of the hospital and brought him to her new home to recover.
She even bought the house next door and set up a professional medical team to monitor him around the clock.
Gordon was stunned. “Tatiana, what is all this?”
She softened her voice. “Grandpa, I talked to the doctor. He said you need peace and quiet. The media is watching the hospital too closely for you to rest. Stay here with me. Ann and Hubert are worried about you.”
Gordon’s eyes turned red. He grabbed her hand, trembling and unable to speak.
With the Jackson family in ruins, their old friends were nowhere to be found. The family estate had been sealed off. He was just an old man with nowhere to go but a hospital room. More importantly, Jasper’s situation was uncertain, and Gordon felt powerless to help.
He never expected Tatiana to be the one taking care of him.
Ann and Hubert ran over and crowded around him, chirping about how much they wanted him to stay. Gordon was so moved he could not refuse.
