Everything Was a Deal Until Divorce

Chapter 118 Mr Vale Lost Control

Damon texted, Dorian, give us your reaction.

Finished

Earlier, Caleb had left the group chat because he was sick of Dorian treating Arden badly. Cassian only noticed today, and dragged him back in.

Caleb finally showed up in the chat again, watching the chaos.

Caleb texted, Lol.

Barry texted, Interesting.”

Dorian texted, All of you, shut up.”

He threw his phone aside and stormed out, walking straight to Arden’s door and knocking hard.

Arden had just finished showering. A face mask was still on her skin. She slipped into her slippers and headed to the door, calling out as she walked. Who is it?

It’s me.

Dorian stood outside, in the worst mood imaginable. Arden stopped behind the door and asked, Mr. Vale, what do you want?

Open the door.

He just needed to see her. You can say whatever it is through the door.

Dorian’s patience was gone, those photos had already wrecked his selfcontrol. His voice dropped. Arden, if you don’t open it, I’m kicking it in.

Arden frowned. “Dorian, do you seriously have to act like this?

His voice got even darker. Open it.

Arden closed her eyes and took a slow breath. How did I not realize he’s this unreasonable? This unstable? Completely insane?

Afraid he’d actually break the door, she unlocked it and pulled it open. With the mask still on her face, Dorian froze for a second, staring. Arden ripped the mask off in one quick motion, leaving her face damp and sticky.

She looked at him. Mr. Vale, what do you want?

Dorian didn’t answer.

He was still dressed in his black shirt and black pants, black leather shoes. The only difference was his tie was gone, and two buttons at his collar had been undone. He looked tired, wild, and dangerous.

Hands in his pockets, he stood there blocking most of the doorway like he owned it.

When he still didn’t speak, Arden got annoyed by how uncomfortable her face felt. She turned and walked into the bathroom, turning on the faucet to wash her face.

She grabbed a headband, pushed her hair back, tucked everything behind her ears, then splashed warm

water over her face.

Dorian followed her inside, but didn’t step fully in. He leaned against the bathroom doorframe, watching her in silence.

She wore a loose nightgown that hit her knees, with two childish cartoon bunnies printed on the front.

Arden thought he’d stayed in the living area. He didn’t make a sound. When she finished rinsing her face and turned around, she nearly jumped. When did you come in here?

I’ve been following you.

If you have something to say, say it.”

Her face was fresh and clean now, no makeup at all. Skin bright, eyes big and dark. She looked soft in a way that made Dorian’s throat tighten.

All he could think was, she looks so young, so sweet, so easy to ruin.

A few water droplets slid down her cheek and toward her jaw, disappearing into the neckline of her nightgown. One drop was about to fall straight into her eye.

Dorian instinctively reached out to wipe it away. Arden jerked back immediately. Dorian frowned. Why are you dodging me? Come here.

What are you trying to do?Her eyes were full of caution now.

That smile in the carousel photos flashed through Dorian’s head, the one she gave Vincent so freely. The rage rose again so fast it turned his gaze sharp and cold.

Come here,” he said again, voice low.

Arden shook her head. No.

Dorian lifted an eyebrow. He had been leaning casually, but now he stood up straight. Slowly, deliberately, he started rolling his sleeves up.

Fine,he said, calm as ever. Then I’ll come in.”

Arden’s heart jumped. The bathroom was small. Closed off. If he stepped closer, she’d have nowhere to go.

She pressed her lips together, pulse quickening. He’s going to do something. He’s absolutely going to do something.

Dorian looked at her, then glanced at the sink, and his mind clearly went somewhere filthy. His voice dropped into something rough and shameless.

You remember the Vale estate,he said, when we did it at the sink. You liked it.

Arden’s eyes widened. She couldn’t believe he had the nerve to say that out loud.

Arden,he murmured, you keeping me out because you want to relive it?

His voice got hoarse, and his eyes darkened, heat rising in them fast. That look. Arden knew that look too well. Every time he looked at her like that, she ended up wrecked.

Don’t come in,she said quickly. I’m leaving.”

Good,Dorian said, satisfied. That’s better.

Sleeves rolled up to his forearms, veins visible along solid muscle, he leaned against the doorway again, watching her.

Watching her bite her lip. Watching her walk slowly toward him.

When she got close enough to slip past him, Dorian reached out and wiped the droplet from the corner of her eye. His touch lingered, slow.

Then his fingers slid down to her lips, pressing lightly, rubbing over that soft pink like he had all the time in the world.

His lashes lowered. His throat moved with a hard swallow. The light above them cast a warm glow over both of them. She was close, too close. Close enough for him to pull her into his arms and hold her there, full and tight.

He could smell her shampoo, faint and clean. Her skin felt cool under his fingertips, soft. Her jasmine perfume wrapped around him, tugging at something deep inside his chest.

His touch was hot, almost burning.

And with Arden so tense, every slow rub of his thumb felt sharper, more obvious, more dangerous.
