“Say that again.”

Arden stood up, clearly ready to kick him out. “I really don’t get you, Mr. Vale. Wasn’t it you who said I should stop having feelings for you and stay away? Well I’m doing exactly what you asked. But now you keep showing up at my door–what, trying to mess with me for fun? If that’s your idea of entertainment, rest easy. I don’t have any feelings for you anymore.
“If you want a divorce, we can sign the papers tomorrow If we’re waiting for the five–year term, fine–I’ll treat you like a stranger in the meantime. I won’t interfere in your life one bit.
“You can be with however many women you want–doesn’t matter to me. But stay out of my life too, alright? I think I’ve made myself perfectly clear.
“Mr. Vale, let’s just go back to being strangers, okay?”
Dorian listened to her say it all. Not a single word spared him. But he didn’t want to be strangers with her
anymore.
“Who said anything about divorce? Arden, as long as this marriage exists, there can only be one man in your life–me. No hugs, no kisses, no dating anyone else.”
His tone was ice cold.
Arden rolled her eyes, silent. “Mr. Vale, now that you’re done losing your mind, please leave. I need to sleep.”
Polite. Distant. She was clearly showing him out. “Did you hear what I said? If not, I’m staying here tonight.”
Unbelievable.
How had she never noticed how shameless he could be? Dorian stared right at her, relaxed, clearly not planning to leave.
“You hear me?”
Arden snapped, “I heard you. I’m not deaf.”
Dorian stood up. Arden thought he was finally leaving and let her guard down.
But suddenly, he leaned in, cupped her face with both hands, and kissed her hard. It was wild, desperate- like he was trying to devour her.
Then he let go, casually wiped his lips, and gave her a long look. “Sleep tight.”
He straightened up, hands in his pockets, walking toward the door.
Arden looked calm, but she was all fire inside. The more he pushed, the further she wanted to run. If he ever dared to force things, with her temper? She’d cut him off for real.
So Dorian held back. He had to take this slow. Even though he wanted her badly. Arden was frozen, still processing what just happened.
By the time she came back to her senses, he was already at the door. Her lips still burned.
She shouted at his back, “You beast! You bastard!”

Chapter 120 Back to Strangers
Dorian didn’t stop walking. Being a bastard didn’t sound so bad, if it meant he got to kiss her.

He smirked, fingers brushing his lips as he turned back to glance at her. She stood there, cheeks puffed in frustration, eyes watery, glaring at him.
Small face, fair skin. Adorable. Way too adorable.
Tsk. After Dorian left, Arden slammed the door shut, furiously wiping her lips.
She muttered under her breath, “That damn asshole.” Bit her again.
Whatever. If this was how he acted when he liked someone? Then fine–she’d just go ahead and assume he’d lost his damn mind.
She liked this version of herself more now. Focused on work, no longer drowning in emotions.
Saving up little by little–in two years they’d be divorced. Once the Wynn family paid back Eugenia that five billion, she’d have a couple years of solid work experience under her belt. She could switch jobs, probably double her salary.
Then she’d be able to take care of her parents. Nothing mattered more than family being together.
Arden fell asleep quickly. Dorian didn’t sleep a wink.
Since she had work in the morning, Arden set an alarm for 7:30. She got up on time, washed up, and dressed more formally for her meeting at the tech company–white blouse, tailored skirt, light makeup.
At 7:50 sharp, someone knocked.
She opened the door. It was Lucien. He handed her breakfast. “Boss told me to bring this, Mrs.Vale. He just woke up.”
Arden thanked him, took the bag, and sat down at the table to eat. In the presidential suite across the hall, Dorian was already dressed–black shirt, tie neatly done.
Then he thought of Vincent in a white shirt. He looked in the mirror.
Fingers pressing on the tie, he asked, “Lucien, do you think I’m good–looking?”
Lucien stood ramrod straight. The question caught him off guard. “Huh?”
“I said, am I good–looking?”
Lucien nodded quickly. “Very handsome. Plus, rich and capable.”
“What about compared to Vincent?”
Didn’t he ask this already? Why again? Lucien sighed internally. “Of course, you’re a bit better, sir.”
Dorian studied his own reflection, then pulled the tie of “Go find me a white shirt.”
Lucien was speechless. “…Alright.”
The boss usually wore dark colors–light tones were rare. White? Even rarer. Thankfully, Lucien had a spare. He hurried off to grab it.
