Chapter 240 No Boys Allowed
Ares frowned, “I was sure she was going to say, ‘Come join us. Guess not.”
Dorian scoffed. “You’re forgetting–if I show up, Arden’s leaving.”
Ares sighed, eyes on Ruby. “Same. She’d walk if I showed up.”
“So… we leaving?”

Dorian hadn’t even touched the shopping cart. He pulled out his phone and texted Lucien to come pick them up.
Ares kept watching the girls. “Let’s just see what they’re buying. It’s not like we get to do this often.”
So the two men strolled slowly past the shelves like they were browsing, even though their eyes were locked on the group a few aisles over.
Arden, Celine, Ruby, and Isla were debating what to grab in the fresh foods section.
“You guys okay with meat?” Arden asked, stopping in front of the refrigerated cases. “They’ve got ribeye, lamb chops, shrimp, sausages–oh, and look, fresh oysters.”
Oysters?
Arden suddenly remembered college nights–cheap beer, late music, and trays of grilled oysters shared with friends after midnight.
“I’m in,” Isla said immediately.
“Same,” Ruby agreed.
“Yeah,” Celine nodded. Then she paused, squinting at the tank. “Wait… people actually grill oysters?”
“They’re amazing,” Arden said with a grin. “Just takes a little prep.”
All four stared intently at the oysters and crabs in the tanks.
“You sure you know how to handle them?” Ruby asked.
“Not really,” Arden admitted. “But I’ll look it up. I’m off tomorrow, we’ve got all night, and my place has enough space for everyone.”
Isla nodded excitedly. “Alright then, we’re getting drunk tonight!”
“Arden, are these crabs from the supermarket better than the market ones?” Ruby asked.
“They look super fresh. See how lively they are?”
Celine looked intrigued. “But, like… can you prep theru? You’ve done it before?”
Arden hesitated. “No, not really. This is kind of my first time hosting something like this.”

Then she noticed Dorian and Ares lurking nearby. Celine saw them too, and paused.

She turned to the group. “Hey, what if we asked my brother and Ares to help prep? They said they haven’t had dinner yet.”
“No,” Arden and Ruby both said instantly.
“I’ll just look it up,” Arden said quickly. “Don’t need a man to steam a crab.
“Same,” Ruby agreed. “I’ll help. I’m a fast learner. Definitely don’t need Ares”
Isla glanced toward the two tall, tailored men standing by the tanks.
“Do we actually think Dorian and Ares can prep crabs? These two were raised with butlers and private chefs. They even know what a cutting board looks like?”
Celine frowned. “Okay, yeah, fair point.”
Unfortunately, they hadn’t exactly kept their voices down.
Dorian and Ares heard everything. The two men exchanged a glance. Then they looked back at the
seafood tanks.
