Chapter 251 Don’t Steal My Employee
“Come help with the sauces, Dorian tried hard to hold back the rising fire in his chest. “There’s no more watermelon. I want some too.
Ruby glanced at Noah’s puffed checks and the half–eaten slice in Arden’s hand. Then she looked over ar Dorian, who was clearly burning with possessiveness under that cold exterior, and let out a short laugh,
It was obvious there was tension between them, and yet the man still pretended like he didn’t care.
Ruby handed over a slice from the plate near her. “Mr. Vale, I’ve got watermelon. Here, have mine. Cool off a bit. Arden’s swamped, don’t go bossing her around.”
Isla seemed to pick up on the vibe too and chimed in, “Exactly. Mr. Vale, this whole living room is packed with people. Why are you only yelling for Arden? Can’t you see she’s serving Noah?”
“She’s the host, isn’t she?”
Celine muttered, “What, you think you’re some kind of guest of honor? If you want watermelon, cut it yourself.”
Dorian shot her a look. “Shut it.”
Noah had already taken off his gloves and washed his hands. He reached for the slice of watermelon Arder was handing him and said gently, “Arden, you should go back to the living room. I’ll finish the oysters.”
He raised the watermelon slightly. “This is really sweet. Thanks.”
“I can’t just let you work in the kitchen alone. I’ll call Caleb to help.”
Ignoring Dorian completely, Arden called, “Caleb, come here.”
Caleb got up and gave Dorian a quick look. His face was dark. Caleb had no idea what he was mad about
I mean, seriously. He’s the one who didn’t want the marriage. He’s the one who kept stirring up drama. He asked for the divorce. And now they barely talk–so what’s with the attitude?
Arden called out to everyone, “The grill’s not ready yet, but we’ll start with the shrimp and crab when it is. Help yourself to the sauces while we finish up.”
Then she headed back into the kitchen with Caleb and Noah.
Noah stood by the sink, sorting through the oysters while Caleb measured out garlic and butter for the topping. Arden rinsed the utensils on the side, lining them up on a towel. The three of them moved easily together, hands busy, conversation light. Caleb was starting to really like Noah.
So during their prep, he asked a few things about his background. Noah answered politely and with ease. From that exchange, Noah learned a lot more about Arden too.
And after that, his opinion of Noah went up even more.
He was sunny, good–looking, had a great personality, and most importantly–gentle. He always had his

eyes on Arden’s comfort.
His family was solidly middle–class, well–educated, great atmosphere. He’d joined his current company while still in college, and within a year of graduating, he’d already become a partner and now served as the general manager.
He spoke well too.
If Arden ever wanted to remarry, Caleb would much rather see her in a warm, normal home than tangled up with some high–society powerhouse.
Arden continued cleaning up quietly on the side.
She and Noah had studied the same major, so they occasionally exchanged a few words.
But when she heard that Noah was now a partner and GM, she genuinely raised her thumb and praised him, “Noah, that’s amazing. You only graduated a year ahead of me and you’re already a partner. I still feel like I know nothing. Haven’t even completed one full project.”
Noah smiled lightly, joking, “You studied the same major. If you’re ever interested, you could come take a look at our company. We’re hiring.”
A low, cold voice cut in from behind. “Oh? Trying to poach employees while I’m not around?”
Dorian had shown up in the kitchen.
He had noticed Arden hadn’t returned for quite a while after heading in, so he came to check.
He’d caught Caleb asking about Noah’s background and knew immediately—Caleb was impressed.
So this is them screening potential husband material? Ha.
And Arden was just standing there like she approved of it.
Now Noah’s trying to recruit her?
All three turned at once.
Noah kept his calm, “Mr. Vale, relax. I was just making conversation. Arden’s hardworking. I’m sure she’d be outstanding in any role. And hiring goes both ways–for the company and the individual.”
Dorian walked toward Arden. “Uh–huh. Let me think, which company did you say you’re from? Rayfront Tech, right?”
Arden saw the fury in Dorian’s eyes.
