Chapter 263 Wrong Place, Wrong Time
Arden jogged over quickly.
Her pale peach dress swayed like a bloom in motion, hair bouncing gently with each step.
Pinished
When she reached Noah, he instinctively patted her lightly on the back and opened the car door for her.
Dorian narrowed his eyes.
“That guy waiting for Arden, that’s Noah?” he asked Lucien.
“Yes, sir,” Lucien replied.
Dorian’s gaze darkened instantly. “So in the six months I’ve been gone, they’ve gotten pretty close?”
Lucien glanced at the pair in the distance, picture–perfect together, and nodded.
“Looks like it. Noah’s the calm, gentleman type. He and Arden were classmates, same major. Lots in common.”
“That so?” Dorian stepped out the front gate.
Lucien followed. “Yeah.”
“Follow them.”
Dorian headed toward his black Maybach.
Lucien hesitated. “What? Boss, your stitches… You’re bleeding. You’ve definitely reopened the wound. We‘ need to go back now, or you’ll risk an infection.”
He hadn’t even fully healed before flying back yesterday. Now, walking around this much? Even a superhero wouldn’t push it like that.
But Dorian didn’t flinch. “Do I need to repeat myself?”
Lucien fell silent. “If you don’t want to drive, call Kade or Colton.”
“I’ll drive.” Lucien wiped sweat from his brow.
He knew if they left now, there might not be another chance to follow up later. And Dorian was still injured. He couldn’t just let him go alone.
So Lucien drove behind Noah’s car, tailing them from a distance.
They stopped at an upscale spot nearby–modern American, with warm lighting, good wine, and a low- key crowd. Noah parked and walked over to open Arden’s door.
At that point, Dorian told Lucien, “You can go now.”
Lucien was alarmed. “Boss, I still need to drive you home. Felix is waiting at Silverbay Villa to treat your

wound.”
“Let him wait.”
“But-”
“Leave the car. You’ve got the night off.”
“Boss, you’re still bleeding…”
“I don’t care. When we come out, don’t let either of us see you.”
Lucien looked like he’d been slapped. “…Okay, boss. I’m out.”
Dorian took out his phone and called Cassian. “I need a drink. Get over here.”
“You’re back in Avalen?” Cassian sounded surprised and excited.
“Yeah. You coming or not?”
“I’m coming. Send me the location.”
Dorian texted him a pin, then walked into the restaurant and booked a table–one deliberately near Arden and Noah’s.
He got there first and sat down.
Arden and Noah, still chatting and laughing, didn’t notice him. Their tables weren’t that close, so they stayed unaware.
Dorian ordered food but didn’t touch it. He just watched them. And listened. They chatted about work, caught up on life.
Arden said, “This meal’s on me. I got a new project bonus. No arguing, Noah.”
“Alright, but next one’s mine.” Noah smiled at her, sweet and sincere. “Has your CEO come back to the office yet?”
“Yeah. He led a company–wide meeting today.”
She clearly didn’t want to talk about Dorian and steered the topic elsewhere.
Noah asked, “There’s a big industry summit in Westborough next month. Want to come?”
It was a major event, gathering the best minds in their field. Lectures, discussions, career networking- everything.
Arden perked up. “I’d love to.”
But her face fell quickly. “Only thing is… those events are invite–only. I’m just average. No one’s inviting
mre.”
Noah pulled an envelope from his coat and slid it over. “I’ve got an extra.”
