Everyone turned toward the doorway in confusion.

Bella walked beside Iris, and on Iris’s other side was a woman wearing a black face mask that concealed the lower half of her face completely.
The moment Linda saw Iris, she assumed they had come to ask her to return.
After carefully smoothing the sheet mask over Belinda’s face, she walked over with an air of confidence.
“President Zero, I resigned simply because I couldn’t accept the way you handled things. But I still care about Venus.”
She paused, her tone growing more assertive.
“If you want me back, my salary triples. And Mr. Smith comes back with me.”
Having worked at Venus for so many years, Linda believed she had the leverage to control this newly appointed CEO.
During her time there, she had never made much effort to train junior makeup artists. Now that she had left, Venus had no one capable enough to handle Belinda Studio’s project.
If they wanted to avoid paying breach-of-contract penalties-and avoid being publicly blacklisted by the endorsement queen Belinda-they had no choice but to bring Linda back.
“Please keep your voices down,” Manager Heidi reminded them. “Don’t disturb Belinda while she’s resting.”
Even so, she didn’t return to Belinda’s side. She was just as curious to see whether she’d end up profiting from this internal power struggle.
“President Zero, Miss Belinda’s facial mask comes off in two minutes. You don’t have much time left to think it over.”
Under everyone’s watchful gaze, Iris finally spoke. Her voice was calm and icy. “This person is no longer a Venus employee. Please have her leave. Our makeup artist needs to begin Miss. Belinda’s makeup.”
Linda had been expecting to hear the terms of her promotion and raise. Instead, the words hit her like a bucket of ice water.
“What do you mean?”

Pinished
Standing beside Iris, Bella had once again become the cool, businesslike assistant she was around outsiders.
“It means President Zero has no intention of bringing you back. Anyone who betrays the company has no place at Venus.”
Linda laughed mockingly. “That’s rich. I’m the only makeup artist here. Who exactly are you using? Someone borrowed from another celebrity? Some freelancer the venue provided? Aren’t you afraid people will laugh when word gets out?”
Only then did she notice the silent woman standing beside Iris.
Pointing at her, Linda scoffed. “Her? Is she doing the makeup? Does she even have a license? Any experience? She won’t even take off that mask!”
Linda had worked in the industry for years. If someone truly possessed skills comparable to hers, there was no way she wouldn’t have heard of them.
Iris gave Bella a slight nod.
Bella stepped forward and handed Manager Heidi copies of two certificates.
“Our collaboration is governed entirely by contract,” she said professionally. “We guarantee Miss Belinda’s makeup will meet every agreed standard for today’s red carpet. If you’d like additional assurance, here are our makeup artist’s professional credentials.”
Manager Heidi accepted the certificates skeptically.
The moment she finished reading them, her expression changed dramatically.
Seeing her reaction, Linda immediately grew suspicious and tried to lean over for a look.
Before she could, Bella calmly took the certificates back. “We’d appreciate it if this information remained confidential.”
Manager Heidi’s attitude instantly became much more respectful. “Of course! Absolutely! Please, Miss Summer, go ahead and start Miss Belinda’s makeup.”
“What-”
Manager Heidi shot Linda a warning look. “Enough. Stop embarrassing yourself and go home.”
Linda couldn’t understand what had happened. How could looking at a couple of certificates change someone’s attitude so completely?
She stared at the masked makeup artist, trying to figure out who she was, but remained completely baffled.

Just then, Belinda’s facial mask was ready to come off.
Seeing Linda still refusing to leave, Manager Heidi gritted her teeth and instructed Belinda’s two bodyguards to escort her out.
Completely bewildered, Linda continued shouting threats as she was dragged away.
“Heidi! Just wait until they fool you! This is Miss Belinda’s most important red-carpet look! If they ruin it, you’re finished too!”
Manager Heidi let out a long breath.
After dismissing everyone else, only Iris, Bella, the masked makeup artist, Belinda, and herself remained in the dressing room.
The masked woman glanced at Iris.
Only after receiving a small nod did she pick up her makeup case and walk over to Belinda.
“Miss Belinda, could you please look up at me?”
The voice sounded strangely familiar.
Then Belinda saw the woman’s deep blue eyes-and the tiny beauty mark at the corner of her
eye.
Her pupils contracted.
“You’re…”
The woman raised a finger to her lips in a silent gesture before smoothly opening her makeup
case.
Iris took a seat on the sofa to wait for the finished result.
Manager Heidi was still too stunned to process what she’d seen.
Not daring to disturb Iris, she quietly sidled over to Bella and whispered,
