Fake Daughter Is The Real Legend (Iris Sutton) novel Chapter 122

Chapter 122 incident

For some reason, the old woman instinctively felt intimidated. She nervously swallowed.

Wait… why was she afraid of some young girl?

Ignoring her, Iris crouched beside the boy and gave him a quick examination.

“It’s nothing serious. He ate too much cold food too quickly. Let him rest for a bit and he’ll be fine.”

The old woman refused to believe her.

“Why should I trust you? You’re their guardian, aren’t you? You’re just trying to get out of paying! Three worthless girls!”

“So by your own logic, does that make you one too?”

The old woman choked on her own words, left speechless.

When she saw Iris stand up, she assumed she was about to leave and immediately rushed forward, grabbing her wrist.

“You can’t leave! Your child fed my grandson junk food and pushed him over! You have to take us to the hospital for a full examination! And you’re paying us compensation for emotional distress!”

“Iris! We didn’t bully him!”

Chapter 124 Proposal

“Take a look at this one.”

Iris flipped through several pages.

The proposal targeted a genuine gap in the current cosmetics market.

It was creative.

Very creative.

Seeing Iris’s expression, Lilian immediately knew she’d been impressed.

“Not bad, right?”

“Wina from Administration gave it to me. She wants to transfer into my department and become my assistant.”

“A transfer?” Iris searched her memory. “She works in Administration?”

“She does. She said she’s been researching competing products in her spare time and studying nonstop. She finally found an opportunity to join R&D. I actually think she’d do well in Product Planning too, but she’s determined to work in Research.”

As Lilian openly praised the young woman named Wina, Iris reached into the stack of files beside her. She pulled out the proposal she’d quietly taken from Jess.

“Look at this one.” Lilian accepted it with a puzzled expression and skimmed through it.

The further she read… the wider her eyes became.

Halfway through, she grabbed Wina’s proposal and laid the two side by side.

“What is this? Who is Jess?”

“Why did she copy Wina’s proposal?”

When she finished reading, she slammed her hand onto the desk in outrage.

Sure, some wording had been changed.

But barely anything.

Anyone could tell the two proposals were essentially identical.

Unlike her, Iris remained perfectly composed. She gestured for Bella to pour her a cup of tea.

“Why are you so certain Jess copied Wina?”

Lilian answered without thinking. “Because Wina submitted hers to me first. If Jess had written hers earlier, she would’ve turned it in already…”

She suddenly stopped.

“Wait.”

A realization dawned on her.

“If Wina had already submitted it to me… then why would Jess bother copying it afterward?”

She stared at Iris.

“You think Wina is the one who plagiarized?” She sighed helplessly. “No wonder office politics aren’t for me. I’m much better off just putting makeup on people.”

Iris smiled faintly. “We’ll know soon enough.”

The Administration Department was buzzing with congratulations.

“Wina! The R&D Department has way better pay than we do. When you get transferred over there, don’t forget to treat us to dinner!”

Wina basked in everyone’s admiration. “No problem! Dinner’s on me!”

“I saw Supervisor Lilian talking to Wina in the hallway today. She looked really impressed. Getting into R&D is practically guaranteed now! When you make it big, don’t forget about us!”

After everyone finished congratulating her, they returned to work.

Wina couldn’t hide the excitement on her face. Looking at the mountain of tedious administrative work on her computer, she no longer had any interest in doing it.

She turned toward Jess. “Jess, could you take care of this spreadsheet for me? I knew you were the nicest.”

Without waiting for an answer, she simply forwarded the file.

Then she smiled smugly.

“Supervisor Lilian said my proposal was excellent. I should thank you for letting me have that opportunity.”

Jess looked up at her. “I didn’t give you anything. You photographed my proposal after reading

it…”

Chapter 122 Incident

The amusement park was packed. He definitely saw the background!

“Forget it. Let’s have fun first! There’s no way he’ll make it back in time anyway!”

Emma Barclay let Iris Noir lead her out of the car. Even from the entrance, they could hear cheers and excited screams echoing throughout the park.

It was the weekend, and the amusement park was filled with families with young children and groups of students enjoying the day together.

“Come on! Let’s go in!”

Her tiny face practically glowed with excitement as she eagerly pulled Iris toward the entrance.

Emma had strictly ordered the two bodyguards not to stay too close, so they could only follow from a distance.

With so many people around, Emma disappeared into the crowd. She tugged Iris through winding paths between the sea of visitors, weaving left and right until the bodyguards were exhausted trying to keep up.

“Where’s Miss Emma?”

“Don’t push! Stop pushing!”

As they walked, Iris reminded her, “Your heart condition means you can’t go on anything too thrilling.”

Emma’s thoughts had been read perfectly. She reluctantly tore her eyes away from the children’s roller coaster filled with delighted screams.

“Then I want ice cream over there!”

“Sure.”

Hand in hand, they headed toward a nearby ice cream stand.

There weren’t many people left around the stall. Most customers had already bought their treats and moved on. Only a chubby little boy remained, squatting nearby and staring longingly at the ice cream vendor.

Feeling sorry for him, Emma was about to buy him an ice cream.

Before she could, the little girl standing in front of them purchased two cones and walked over.
