Chapter 142 Counterfeit Earring
Bella looked anxiously at Iris Noir.

Only after finishing her salad did Iris finally glance at the pair of earrings in Tasha’s hand.
“Buccellati?”
Tasha remembered what Olivia had told her–that this older sister had never seen much of the world and probably didn’t even know what Buccellati was.
She let out a cold snort.
“You’ve never even heard of such a famous brand? I guess you just thought they looked pretty and stole them!”
“Security! Take her away!”
“The earrings did mysteriously end up in my bag,” Iris said calmly, “but they aren’t Buccellati. They’re just counterfeit earrings made to resemble the real thing.”
Her words landed like a bombshell.
Tasha instantly flew into a rage and reached for Iris’s collar. Bella hurriedly stepped between them.
“What are you talking about? My dad personally reserved these for me at the boutique! And you’re saying they’re fake?”
Looking at her calmly, Iris asked, “You’re sure your earrings are genuine? Then these can’t be yours.”
“I…” Tasha nearly choked on her own words.
Iris had trapped her with a single sentence. What was she supposed to say?
If she claimed they were hers, then she’d be admitting her genuine earrings had somehow become fake.
If she denied they were hers…
That was impossible.
After all, Olivia had instructed the local guide to personally slip them into Iris’s bag.
“Tasha, calm down!”

Olivia hurriedly grabbed her arm and shot her a meaningful look, signaling her not to take the bait. They were supposed to stick to the original plan–frame Iris for stealing the earrings and not let her steer the conversation elsewhere.
Unfortunately, Olivia had underestimated just how much Tasha treasured those earrings.
She had waited so long to receive them.
There was no way she’d let anyone call them fake.
“My earrings are real!” she insisted again.
Amid the commotion, Vincent easily spotted Iris in the center of the crowd. Thanks to his height, he made his way over without difficulty.
“I’m a certified jewelry appraiser.” He took a professional certification from his bag. “If you’d like, I can authenticate them.”
Someone in the crowd recognized it immediately.
“That really is a jewelry appraiser’s certification!”
Truthfully, Tasha didn’t know much about jewelry. She only recognized brands and price tags and couldn’t tell genuine pieces from counterfeits.
Seeing that Vincent was a professional, she immediately handed him the earrings.
“Fine! Take a good look and tell everyone whether they’re real or fake!” She glared at Iris. “You stole my earrings, and now you’re claiming they’re fake! Even if Olivia speaks up for you today, I won’t let this go!”
Vincent examined the earrings carefully. He gently breathed onto the diamond, then tore off a piece of white paper and drew several straight lines across it before placing the stone over the lines.
Every movement was smooth and practiced.
No one doubted his professionalism anymore.
“Miss,” he said after only a brief inspection, “the diamond is fake. It’s obviously an imitation.”
He returned the earrings to Tasha.
The crowd fell silent.
Everyone was stunned.

What kind of shocking gossip was this?
The vice mayor’s daughter had been wearing counterfeit designer earrings?
If the vice mayor found out his daughter had embarrassed him this publicly, he’d probably grind his teeth to pieces.
Tasha was dumbfounded as well.
How had they suddenly become fake?
She blurted out without thinking,
“That’s impossible! They were obviously-”
Having learned from the previous times Iris had turned the tables, Olivia reacted immediately and pulled Tasha behind her.
“This gentleman was just talking with my sister, wasn’t he? What if they’re working together…”
Tasha immediately caught on.
“That’s right! You’re in this together! You’re claiming my earrings are fake to cover up the fact that you stole them!”
Olivia secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Thankfully, Tasha wasn’t completely foolish.
Using the partnership with Quinn Group to earn her goodwill hadn’t been a waste. Besides, her parents had already finalized the cooperation with Quinn Group.
“The breath test and the line test are among the most basic methods of identifying a diamond.” Iris lightly tapped the table.
Whispers spread through the crowd.
Several people who knew jewelry nodded in agreement.
“I’ve heard of that.”
“That’s a standard test.”
“If it were only the two of them saying it, I wouldn’t believe it.”
If only Iris and Vincent had claimed the earrings were fake, Tasha would’ve assumed they were
