Chapter 158 The Blackmail
Watching from the observation room, Vincent frowned.

Fluted
He was just about to step out and defend his sister when a sharp tap, tap echoed through the conference room.
His hand stopped on the doorknob.
A moment later, he relaxed and slowly sat back down.
Iris had finally decided to take control.
She rapped her knuckles against the conference table twice.
The room fell silent instantly.
Glancing at a message on her phone, she turned to Bella.
“Go downstairs. Bring our guest up.
Nick barely reacted.
At this point, it didn’t matter who Iris brought in.
With Mr. Noir watching everything unfold, she had no way out.
A few minutes later, Bella returned with a young boy dressed in a hospital gown. His face was pale, and he clung nervously to her side, peeking timidly at the room full of strangers.
“Who’s that kid?”
The moment Sara saw him, all the color drained from her face. She leaped to her feet and hurried over.
“Sweetheart! What are you doing here?”
“The doctor said you needed to stay in bed. You weren’t supposed to leave the hospital!”
“The doctor’s orders?” Iris’s calm voice cut through the room.
Sara froze, instinctively pulling her son into a tight embrace.
Iris walked over and handed her a medical report. “This is your son’s latest examination report from St. Grace Medical Center. Take a look.”

Chapter 198 The Black
Sara accepted it with trembling hands. Her eyes immediately fell on the bold words at the top of the page:
All test results within normal limits.
Her eyes widened in disbelief.
“How… this can’t be…”
“My son’s report? I thought he was terminally ill.”
The doctors had told her he was suffering from a life–threatening illness that would require an enormous amount of money to treat
That was the only reason she’d agreed to help Nick.
The only reason she’d allowed herself to become his pawn.
So…
What had really happened?
Gripping her son’s shoulders, she searched his face anxiously
“Tell Mommy. How are you feeling?
The little boy looked past her toward Iris before answering honestly.
“After I ate the candy that big sister gave me… the pain went away.
“What candy?” Sara looked utterly confused “President Zero when did you even meet my son?”
“The day you told me he’d been diagnosed with beta thalassemia intermedia. Iris gently ruffled the little boy’s hair. “Most cases of beta thalassemia intermedia are inherited. But neither you nor your husband carries the gene, and many of his symptoms didn’t fit the diagnosis. Several of them looked much more like side effects from medication.”
Sara stared at her, the realization slowly sinking in. You mean… my son was misdiagnosed? He’s been in the hospital all this time for nothing?”
“You could say that.”
Confused murmurs rippled through the conference room.
“Wait a minute,” someone said. “Aren’t we here to discuss the missing company funds? What does the receptionist’s son have to do with any of this?”

Exactly Why are we suddenly talking about someone’s personal life?”
Without answering, Iris took a small clear bottle from her bag. Inside were colorful gummies that looked like ordinary fruit candy.
“Have him take two of these every day,” she said. “He’ll recover completely
The little boy nodded enthusiastically. “Big Sister’s been giving me these for four days. They work way better than the yucky medicine and those scary machines at the hospital.”
At that moment, everything clicked for Sara. Tears welled in her eyes.
“Assistant Bella….could you take my son outside for a few minutes?”
Bella nodded, gently took the little boy’s hand, and led him out of the conference room.
Only after the door closed did Sara slowly stand. She looked directly at Iris.
“President Zero… thank you. If it weren’t for you. I would’ve gone on believing their lies.” Her voice hardened. “I never would’ve realized that some people don’t deserve to be called human.”
What kind of monster used a child as leverage? What kind of person turned a healthy little boy into the victim of a fabricated, life–threatening illness?
A flicker of panic crossed Nick’s face. He immediately tried to steer the meeting back under his control.
“Given the evidence we already have, I think we should move on to discussing President Zero’s disciplinary-
“She doesn’t deserve any disciplinary action!” Sara’s voice rang through the room. “This has nothing to do with President Zero!”
The timid, guilt–ridden woman from moments before was gone.
Nick had crossed the one line no mother could forgive
The employees exchanged bewildered looks. Hadn’t Sara just admitted that President Zero instructed her to transfer the money? Why had seeing her son changed everything?
“What are you talking about, Sara?” Nick asked, shooting her a warning look. “We can discuss your personal matters after the meeting.”

“And what about the $3.7 million in President Zero’s account?” he demanded. “How does she explain that?”
