The day the call came in, Iris Noir was still in a meeting at Venus headquarters.

The discussion centered on the company’s future development plans.

“President Zero? You’re really leaving?”

Bella looked more devastated than anyone.

Just a few days ago, she had proudly told people she planned to work under President Zero until retirement. Now that President Zero was heading off to college, she was stepping back from managing the company.

“I’ll still be working remotely,” Iris explained. “I’ll participate in major strategic decisions, but all day–to–day operations and company affairs will be handled by Vice President Saunders.”

She turned toward Yonki.

“Mr. Saunders is more than capable of the role. I’ll also be submitting a recommendation to Noir Group that he be officially promoted to President.”

Once Iris had finished speaking, Lilian Summer rose from her seat.

“Everyone, I’d like to say something as well.” She smiled apologetically. “After President Zero leaves, I’ll probably transition into an external consulting role.”

Originally, Iris had only recruited her to help stabilize the company during a crisis. Overseas, she still had plenty of work waiting for her, and she had already delayed it long enough.

“No problem. Emma’s on vacation right now anyway.”
