Chapter 252 The Truth
Chapter 252 The Truth
Yanna blinked.
“What are you talking about? What vice principal?”
In the private room next door, Vice Principal Watson sat staring at a live security feed provided the coffee shop employees.
Beside him sat a representative from Capital University’s admissions office.
The two exchanged speechless looks.
Neither had expected such a dramatic twist.
Although Vice Principal Watson wasn’t particularly fond of Iris, he was a reasonable man,
And under these circumstances, it was painfully obvious who had been lying.
Iris no longer bothered disguising her voice.
She spoke in her natural tone.
Her voice was distinctive enough that Yanna recognized it instantly.
“You-”
Her eyes widened.
“You’re Iris!”
Resting her chin on one hand, Iris smiled calmly.
“Don’t worry. What you just said is going to bring you even more traffic.”
“You set me up!”
Yanna shot to her feet.
Her composure shattered instantly.
“How can you be so shameless? Julie Young, I actually used to be a fan of yours!”
“Fans?” Julie Young let out an incredulous laugh. “You like me so much that you want to destroy my reputation?”
She had just heard Yanna say with her own mouth that she wanted to make Julie “famous through
controversy.
Wasn’t that exactly what smearing someone meant?

The hidden camera had captured everything–including the entire conversation that the voice recorder
d recorded earlier.
There was no point wasting another word on Yanna.
Iris stood and headed for the door.
“This round is going to bring you even more traffic,” she said calmly. “Make sure you’re ready for i
Yanna’s mind went completely blank.
She remained frozen in her chair as Iris and the others walked out of the private room.
Outside the room, Iris found herself face–to–face with Capital University’s vice president.
Julie was already speaking.
“Vice President Watson, you saw the surveillance footage just now, didn’t you? The reporter completely twisted the facts. Iris never said any of those things.”
“I understand,” the vice president replied, his expression stiff. “But the university still needs to conduct a formal investigation…”
He already knew the truth.
The problem was that the university had already released an official announcement revoking Iris’s admission.
Taking it back now would make the school look incompetent.
Worse…
He himself could end up being disciplined for falsely accusing the nation’s top college entrance exam
scorer.
That would become a permanent stain on his record.
After a brief pause, he offered another solution.
“How about this? You release a clarification yourself. We’ll have people help spread it online, and the university can also compensate you financially.”
“Once your reputation is restored, plenty of other universities will compete to recruit you. You can simply enroll somewhere else. What do you think?”
His calculations were obvious.
When the admissions battle had taken place, he’d been away from campus and had no idea Iris was Richard Noir’s daughter.
He figured money would be enough to smooth everything over.

Chapter 252 The Truth
It was blatant bullying.
June was about to argue again when the vice president’s phone suddenly rang.
“Excuse me.”
He answered the call.
The instant the line connected, President Wade’s booming voice exploded through the speaker.
“What on earth are you doing?! You revoked Iris’s admission?”
The vice president nearly went deaf and instinctively pulled the phone away from his ear.
“Isn’t it already posted on the university website?”
On the other end, President Wade was furious.
Did anyone understand how hard he’d worked to recruit the top scorer?

He’d gone away on a business trip for only a few days, and this idiot had managed to drive away the very student he’d fought to bring in.
As for that so–called exposé…
Ordinary people might believe it.
But experienced educators could tell at a glance it had been manipulated.
Iris had already been deciding between Capital University and A University.
If they pushed her straight into A’s arms….
President Wade would lose sleep every single night.
“Go find Iris immediately!”
“Apologize to her!”
“Restore her admission!”
“And if she refuses, I’ll speak with her personally!”
The vice president wanted to say it was only one top scorer.
There would always be another next year.
Did a university really have to beg a high school graduate?
But Iris and Julie were standing right across from him. He didn’t dare offend a member of the Young
family.
