Iris casually lifted the document folder in her hand without even turning her head.
One wireless earbud sat in her ear.
A news report from an international conference played quietly in the background.
Olivia wasn’t ready to give up.
She moved around to Iris’s other side, subtly trying to guide their path toward the construction area.
“You didn’t get expelled from your school in Ashford County, did you?”
Iris didn’t even glance at her.
“Do we really have anything to talk about?”
With that, she put in her second earbud and increased her pace.
Olivia hurried after her.
“I already forgave you for everything that happened before. I never even told Mom and Dad the whole story. Honestly, if you’d just swallow your pride and apologize, they might still be willing to help you.”
She paused before adding softly,
“And as for your engagement, that wasn’t my fault. His family decided to call it off because they thought it would be better for everyone to take a step back and slow things down. You really shouldn’t blame me for that.”
No response.
Not even a glance.

If anything, Iris walked even faster.
Clearly trying to lose her.
:
Olivia clenched her teeth and sped up too.
The flower bed was only a few yards away now.
What was wrong with this woman?
Did she have Olympic-level speed walking skills?
Olivia rarely exercised.
After only a short distance, her side was already cramping.
But she gritted her teeth and pushed forward.
Almost there.
Just a little closer.

As Iris approached the freshly repaired flower bed, Olivia raised both hands.
She was ready to shove her.
Hard.
Just as her fingers were about to make contact-
Iris suddenly turned right.
The movement was completely unexpected.
Olivia couldn’t stop her momentum.
“Ah-!”
THUD.

She flew forward.
And landed face-first inside the flower bed.
Fresh soil exploded everywhere.
Two newly planted flowers were crushed beneath her.
A perfect human-shaped crater appeared in the middle of the landscaping.
Several seconds later, Iris heard a noise behind her.
She looked around briefly.
Nothing seemed wrong.
Had Olivia left?
That was surprisingly quick.
Shrugging, Iris continued on her way.
The groundskeepers, however, had witnessed everything.
Unfortunately, they were too far away to stop it.
“Hey!”
“Hey!”
“We just finished that!”
“We literally told everyone to stay away!”
Olivia sat frozen in the dirt.
Mud covered her hands.
Her knees were filthy.

Her brand-new designer sneakers looked utterly destroyed.
The workers hurried over and helped pull her out.
Unfortunately, it was the middle of dismissal.
Hundreds of students were walking past.
Every single one of them saw her.
Humiliation washed over her.
This wasn’t supposed to happen.
The one falling into the flower bed was supposed to be Iris.

Several classmates recognized her and immediately escorted her to a nearby
restroom.
“What happened?”
“How did you fall into a flower bed?”
Olivia paused while washing mud from her hands.
Then, as if a switch had flipped, her eyes reddened.
Tears instantly pooled in them.
“Maybe it’s my fault.”
She lowered her head pitifully.
“I saw my sister and wanted to say hello.”
Her voice trembled.
“But she yelled at me… told me to get lost… then pushed me into the flower bed.”

A tear slid down her cheek.
“Maybe she just hates me.”
Olivia naturally possessed a soft, delicate appearance.

Combined with her tearful expression, she looked heartbreakingly vulnerable.
Several boys immediately fell for it.
“How could she do that?”
“You’re so nice!”
“Your sister is unbelievable!”
“Exactly!”
One boy clenched his fists.
“We’ll go find her and get even for you!”
Olivia quickly grabbed his arm.
“No!”
She sniffled dramatically.
“Please don’t bother her.”
The boys’ hearts practically melted.
They could only escort her out of school and help her into her family’s car.
Along the way, Olivia repeatedly steered conversations back toward Iris, ensuring as many people as possible overheard the story.
When she arrived home, Samuel Sutton and Vanessa Sutton were stunned.

Their graceful, well-mannered daughter looked like she’d crawled out of a construction site.
The moment they learned Iris was supposedly involved, Vanessa exploded.
As she cleaned Olivia’s scrapes and applied ointment, she cursed furiously.
“That ungrateful girl again!”
“We should never have raised her!”
“All she does is make life miserable for our Olivia!”

Meanwhile, the other person involved had absolutely no idea any of this was happening.
Iris was standing in a cafeteria line buying burgers.
The reason she’d suddenly turned earlier wasn’t complicated at all.
She had remembered that the burger at her old school were exceptionally good.
So she’d changed directions immediately.
That was it.
By the time Iris returned to Capital Preparatory Academy the next day, rumors had spread everywhere.
The moment she entered the classroom, Sophie Bennett grabbed her arm before she could even sit down.
“Iris!”
Sophie stared at her.
“Were you suspended yesterday because you went and beat someone up?”
Iris blinked.

“You hated your former sister, so you took a day off school just to go beat her up, right?”
“…What?”
For perhaps the first time ever, Sophie saw genuine shock on Iris’s face.
Maybe she really didn’t know.
“That’s what everyone’s saying! They said you went back to your old school specifically to bully her.”
Iris frowned.
