“How did you know?” Iris frowned.

Ares paused for a moment before changing the subject.

“I didn’t expect Mr. Hayes to be so young yet already own a villa in such an expensive area of Capital City.”

“He started making money while he was studying abroad. After graduation, he interned at the best hospital in the city where he was living.”

“If he hadn’t wanted to help Director Hayes, he probably wouldn’t have chosen to come back.”

Ares took a file folder from the seat beside him and handed it to her.

Iris opened it.

Inside were the very patient records she had been planning to investigate.

She looked up in surprise. “How did you get these?”

Ares smiled faintly. “I figured you’d need them.”

Then he added, “And I know you’re not just a medical representative for Lytton Pharmaceuticals.”

Iris froze, her fingers tightening slightly around the folder.

“It doesn’t matter who you are at Lytton Pharmaceuticals,” Ares continued. “All I know is that you don’t want the company to fail.”

He gently rested his hand over hers.

“That’s enough for me. I won’t pressure you to tell me anything you’re not ready to share. If there’s ever anything else you need me to look into, just let me know.”

Iris nodded. “This is enough for now.”

She had expected the investigation to take at least another day or two.

She hadn’t imagined Ares would move this quickly.

Thanks to him, she had already saved a great deal of time.

The incident at St. Grace Medical Center was shaping up to be far more complicated than she’d first thought, and Director Hayes would likely have his hands full trying to contain the situation.

After a brief silence, Iris looked at Ares.

Ares thought for a moment before seriously analyzing the situation. Nis conclusion was almost exactly the same as Iris’s own deduction.

The two first went to Professor Joe’s office.

The two elderly professors were sitting together, drinking tea and chatting.
