Chapter 325 The Consequences
The wife suddenly grabbed Iris’s hand tightly.
‘I remember now! Back then, you hadn’t returned to the country yet. You performed my husband’s surgery overseas. We owe everything to you!”
Her husband stared at Iris, then at his wife, still in disbelief. “Are you sure you’re not mistaken?”

“Of course I’m sure! I remember it perfectly–it was Dr. Sutton! She left right after the surgery while you were still unconscious. I wanted to thank you afterward, but I could never find you, I never imagined we’d meet again here.”
She looked at Iris with unwavering certainty.
“I’ve never mistaken someone’s face in my life. You’re definitely Dr. Sutton! Wait… if you’re Dr. Sutton, then does that mean our son can still be saved?”
A spark of hope lit up her face.
“Dr. Sutton, which hospital are you working at now? Our son was ruined by a corrupt hospital, and he’s still in critical condition. Could you please save him?”
Ares Barclay answered for Iris before she could speak. “She’s an honorary physician at St. Grace Medical Center.”
An awkward silence instantly settled over the table.
The couple exchanged uneasy glances, neither knowing what to say.
After all, they had just been talking about bringing St. Grace Medical Center down, only to discover they were sitting across from one of its honorary physicians.
“We didn’t mean…”
“Actually, what we meant was…”
They struggled to explain themselves but couldn’t come up with anything convincing.
Iris finally broke the silence herself. “It’s alright. The problem really was the equipment, and St. Grace Medical Center has already taken appropriate action.”
Mrs. Willow nodded repeatedly.
“You’re right. But our son has only been stabilized for now. If anything happens in the future, may we contact you again?”
“Of course.” Iris replied with a faint smile. “Assuming I’m still an honorary physician at St. Grace Medical Center.”
“That’s wonderful!” Mrs. Willow quickly handed over a business card. “Our last name is Willow.”

Chapter 325 The Conacquences
Mr. and Mrs. Willow happily paid the bill and left.

“I never expected a cave themed restaurant to lead to such an unexpected encounter,” Ares remarked.
“It was an encounter someone deliberately created.”
Iris watched as he lifted his teacup and gently tapped it against hers.
“I didn’t realize your powers of observation were this impressive,” Iris sighed.
“I didn’t have much of a choice.” Ares smiled. “You never tell me when you need help. I know you’re capable of handling everything yourself, but I still wanted to do something.”
He paused before adding,
“Although, to be fair, I didn’t really help. If you hadn’t saved her husband years ago, sitting next to them today wouldn’t have changed a thing.”
After finishing lunch together, Ares received a call.
An emergency meeting had come up at the company.
“I’ll drop you off at Capital University before I head back.”
On the drive, Iris received the latest update from St. Grace Medical Center.
Just as she had expected, after taking office, Mr. Vale shifted all responsibility onto Lytton Pharmaceuticals.
He officially terminated St. Grace Medical Center’s partnership with Lytton, signed with one of Lytton’s former competitors instead, and revoked Iris’s honorary physician appointment.
When Mr. Hayes learned what had happened, he was furious. He and Iris had spent a long time negotiating to secure that honorary position. He never expected Mr. Vale to be so determined to oppose him that he’d make such a foolish decision.
Wasn’t this the same as publicly declaring that Iris had nothing to do with St. Grace Medical Center anymore?
Fortunately, Iris had already warned him in advance.
After ending its partnership with Lytton Pharmaceuticals, St. Grace Medical Center pushed all responsibility and public pressure onto the company.
One after another, major clients canceled their orders with Lytton.
The company’s account manager hurried into Zane Walker’s office.
“Mr. Walker, what should we do? Shouldn’t we issue a public statement? This clearly isn’t our fault!”
Zane glanced at the flood of 99+ unread messages on his phone before opening his chat with Iris.
There was still no reply.
