Chapter 62: This Ends Today.

Irina’s POV

This ends today.

Aiden roared, his claws colliding against Serim’s. I had to admit, Aiden was stronger. With just one push, he threw Serim a few meters away, but Lancer used that opening to try to get to him. Thankfully, my mate was faster.

He used his hind legs to dart to the side, making Lancer bite a tree instead of him.

Julie stood several feet behind them, her clothes torn, her golden hair tangled, eyes gleaming with that same venomous arrogance I had seen when she told me she would make me pay for everything.

“Stop hiding, Julie!” I shouted, my voice slicing through the smoke. “Your problem is with me, so why don’t we fight?”

Her trembling lip curled into a smirk. “You think you, a simple omega, can go against me?”

“Are you lying to convince yourself or me?” I questioned, stepping even closer.

Serim, Lancer, and Aiden were still fighting. They were too engrossed in their own enemy even to notice me, but I couldn’t say the same thing about Aiden.

I saw how his whole body tensed when he sensed me, but he had to focus on the two other wolves ready to kill him.

“You are so full of yourself, Irina. Even if you discovered what you are, I made sure you could never unlock it.” Her face shifted into a horrible smirk, the kind that made my stomach twist. “Didn’t you ever wonder why it took you so long to awaken, Irina?” Julie hissed, her eyes glowing faintly crimson now. She was using dark magic; the question is how. “I made sure your wolf was weak enough so you could never become what you were meant to be.”

“You mean because Lancer rejected me?” I questioned, which made her smirk wider. She opened her mouth to say something, but I didn’t let her this time. “Didn’t you consider the Moon Goddess may grant me a second chance mate?”

She scoffed, but her hands trembled slightly. “Of course I did, but every Alpha and Beta only sees you as a toy. Derek can’t be your second chance; he likes you. If he were yours, he would have claimed you weeks ago.”

She was right, thankfully, my mate stopped acting like a prick.

I never said Derek was my second chance mate,” I stated. “You always forget the important details, Julie.”

My eyes darted back to Aiden, still fighting in his wolf for

Julie followed my gaze; her eyes widened for a second. “That’s impossible,” she mumbled. “I made sure Aiden hated you long before you had your wolf.”

“So it was her!” Theia snarled.

“I already suspected it,” I replied with a heavy sigh.

Considering she was able to change her age, changing her appearance didn’t sound too complicated.

“Why?” I asked her. “Why do you want to destroy my life?”

Julie’s laughter split the air – shrill, sharp, and ugly. It wasn’t the laugh of a spoiled Alpha’s daughter anymore. It was something darker. “Because you were never supposed to exist,” she spat, her voice vibrating with venom. “Your father…”

She stopped herself.

“What?” I asked, urging her to continue.

The world seemed to slow for a second – her face twisting with hate, her aura flickering with blood-red magic.

“I hate you, Irina, and I’ll make sure you pay for all the pain your parents caused me.”

My breath caught in my throat. My parents?

“What did they ever do to you?” I demanded, but she only laughed harder that distorted, broken sound that scraped against my nerves like claws on bone.

“They took everything from me,” she hissed. “My pack, my future, my power. Your mother made sure of that. And your father… oh, your father sealed my fate.”

What the hell?

“My parents are dead,” I said through clenched teeth. “Whatever happened between you and them-”

“Who told you they are dead?” Julie said, her face becoming increasingly wicked with each word she said.

“They left me, there is no way they are alive,” I countered, but the way she looked at me…

I have a feeling she knows something else, but will I be able to figure out what it is?

“Poor, naïve Irina. You were always like that. Even if you discover your true powers, you won’t ever be able to use them,” She laughed. “You are a nobody, na hut I will give you one last chance to find your parents. What do you say?”

I squinted my eyes.

She was tricking me. I could never, ever believe a word she said.

Aiden’s POV.

“Ethan, where the f**k are you?” I growled through the mind link for the tenth damn time. He was taking his sweet time, and I couldn’t afford to keep playing babysitter to two feral idiots while Irina was right in the middle of that mess.

Serim and Lancer lunged again, their claws slashing wildly, movements jerky and uncoordinated. They weren’t fighting like wolves anymore – no strategy, no rhythm. Just rage and chaos. Something was off.

Their eyes glowed a sickly crimson, their snarls deeper, guttural. My suspicions hardened they were being controlled.

“Don’t tell me those bastards let themselves get cursed,” I muttered, ducking under Serim’s swing before slamming my paw into his ribs. He crashed into a boulder, but was back on his feet almost instantly, blood dripping from his mouth.

Lancer came next, faster than he should’ve been in his condition. I twisted, felt his claws graze my flank, and roared, slamming my body into his to knock him off balance. The ground shook with the impact.

Damn it, I thought, glancing toward Irina. She stood in the middle of the clearing, facing Julie. I couldn’t hear what they were talking about, but I have a bad feeling about it.

She hasn’t shifted; they are just in their human forms, but Irina should have killed her if she is ready to end this.

“As soon as Ethan arrives, we are going to kill that b***h,” Arlo growled.

“Of course, even if we have to face the council, I’m not letting her live; she hurt Irina too much,” Julie screamed something, but she was too far away for me to hear. I tried to step closer, but Serim lunged at me again, snapping me out of it. I caught his throat between my jaws and threw him down, snarling. “Stay. The. f**k. Down.”
