Fake Heiress True Luna (Irina) novel Chapter 63

Chapter 63: Captive?

Irina’s POV

Claim

“I hope you have a plan, Theia,” I grumbled as I tried to move my shoulders, but because of the cuffs, I was strapped to this f*****g chair.

“I do,” Theia assured me, but even though I had asked her about her plan at least ten times, she hadn’t told me what the heck it was.

I have to remind myself that wolves know better, but my patience and trust are already fading

in this situation.

“Theia, Aiden must be losing his mind,” I reminded her. “I only let Julie capture me because you

told me we had to come.”

I tightened my jaw until the metal of the cuff dug into my skin. The chair creaked under me with every small movement I made, but it still wouldn’t budge.

f**k.

“Theia, this better be worth it,” I snapped, because talking to the air was less painful than listening to my own pulse.

“You’ll see, Irina,” She repeated shortly.

I really am about to lose my mind. She has said that already as well.

I’m sure almost a day has passed, and we aren’t that far away because the distance pains hurt, but not as much as they did when I was in Blue Moon and he was in Shadow Pack.

Okay, there must be something I can use to escape, and there must be a reason why Julie

hasn’t come here either.

She wants to see me squirm, but still hasn’t realized I am not the same woman as before.

The room was dark, but because of my better senses, I could now make out the faint outlines of the place. Cold stone walls, a single lamp flickering in the corner, and what looked like runes etched into the floor beneath me. Great. A witch’s playground.

Julie has the help of a witch, like I suspected, which only made everything more complicated.

“Perfect,” I muttered under my breath. “Just the kind of vibe I wanted for my evening.”

Theia chuckled softly in my mind. “Don’t waste your energy on sarcasm. You’ll need it soon.”

“I’d love to know why,” I whispered, tugging at the cuffs again. They burned faintly when I touched them, but I wonder why they hurt so much since I’m immune to wolfsbane. Could it

be magic?

It must be magic.

“Because unless you’ve got a miracle up your sleeve, I’m about to make my own exit.”

“Patience,” she warned, her tone sharper now. “If you try to escape now, it will all be in vain.”

“I don’t think this was worth it, and I still think Julie was just messing with us. She can’t have information on my parents.”

“That’s what I thought, too,” She admitted. “But something tells me we have to be here, so just wait a little longer.”

I sighed heavily. There was no point in arguing with my wolf.

“Okay, okay. I’ll-”

Before I could finish, the entire room shuddered. Dust fell from the ceiling, and the lamp swung violently on its hook.

The hell?

“What the f**k happened?” I heard a man screaming from the other side. “I told you not to cause a ruckus. Do you want everyone to know where we are?!”

There were a few hushed apologies, but then a familiar voice was heard.

“They have no idea where we are, Austin. Stop freaking out.”

Julie…

She sounded so cold and detached, like when she let that mask slip. This must be their hideout, which is why she isn’t hiding her true persona anymore.

“She sounds too calm for someone about to die,” Theia growled, low and dangerous.

“I second that,” I muttered. “Can we please skip to the part where we rip her throat out?”

“Soon,” Theia replied, her tone laced with an almost amused darkness.

Well, at least she wasn’t telling me to wait anymore; that was some improvement.

Their footsteps grew closer. I heard the metallic creak of the door handle before it swung open, flooding the dim room with light. Julie stepped in, flanked by two bulky men who

reeked of blood.

She, on the other hand, looked flawless.

“Well, well,” she said, her lips curling. “The little omega who thought she could outsmart me.”

“Funny,” I shot back, keeping my tone even, “I was just thinking the same thing about you.”

Her smirk faltered for half a second before she motioned one of her men forward. He grabbed my chin roughly, forcing my head up. “Careful,” I warned, voice low. “You might lose that hand.”

Julie ignored him and crouched in front of me, inspecting me like I was some kind of prize she’d hunted. “Do you have any idea what I could do to you, Irina? What I will do?”

“Is this where you monologue your evil plan?” I asked dryly. “Because if so, can you at least untie me first? It’s rude to hold someone hostage and bore them.”

Her eyes flashed crimson. “You think you can still joke? Shall I remind you who is strapped on the chair?”

“And shall I remind you I only let you take me because you said you had information about my parents?”

I let go of my arms, the cuffs clunk as they hit against the metal of the chair. “So, spare me the theatrics and tell me what you know about my parents.”

She stepped closer, leaning down to so her lips would brush against my ear. “You forget, Irina, that you don’t have the upper hand here.”

She stepped back, her now red eyes met with my blue ones, and before I could utter a single word she lifted her hand and slapped my cheek.

A familiar metallic taste filled my tongue. I spat the blood to the side and glared at her, a slow, dangerous smile curling on my lips. “You hit like a toddler.”

Julie’s expression didn’t change, but I caught the faint twitch of her jaw – she hated losing control. Good. That made two of us.

“Still running your mouth,” she said coolly, straightening her jacket. “You really don’t know when to stop, do you?”

“Comes with the family,” I replied, testing the cuffs again. The metal hummed with energy definitely spelled. It burned, but the sting was almost… fading. Interesting.

Julie tilted her head, eyes glowing brighter. “You’ll see how much you resemble your family.”
