Fake Heiress True Luna (Irina) novel Chapter 64

Chapter 64: Mate Barging In.

Aiden’s POV

I’m losing my f*****g mind. Where the hell is my mate?!

“Aiden, you need to calm down. We can’t track her if you keep acting like this,” Ethan reminded me, but I couldn’t hear a word my Beta said.

I wanted Irina by my side.

Now!

“I’m going to shift, Arlo might be-”

“If you shift and disappear, then we are all f****d,” He argued. “Irina is out there, but we need to think, not charge in like rabid wolves!” Ethan barked, grabbing my arm before I could storm out of the room. His grip was firm, but my wolf was thrashing beneath my skin, desperate, snarling, hurting.

I could barely breathe. The bond between Irina and me was faint-thin, flickering like a candle in a storm.

The pain from the distance was not helping either. I haven’t felt anything else, but I’m sure Julie or Ana, or whatever her f*****g name is, will try something soon, and I don’t want to wait until I feel like my insides are burning to act.

I can’t allow Irina to go through more pain anymore.

“Don’t tell me to calm down,” I growled, my voice dropping into something more animal than human. “That woman took her.”

“Is she in pain?” He asked.

I shook my head. “Not yet.”

He exhaled through his nose. “I get it, Aiden. You are scared, but to find her sooner, we need you to be calm. You might lose her forever if we don’t find the right trail, and besides, not even a day-”

“Then work faster!” I snapped. The air around me pulsed, my control slipping again. The veins under my skin pulsed.

Arlo was still trying to shift, and I was barely keeping him inside me.

“You know that’s not how it works.”

“f**k!” I cursed, smashing my fist against the wall, which cracked under the hit, pieces of plaster falling to the floor.

The sound echoed through the room, but Ethan didn’t flinch. He is not used to my outbursts, but he knows I won’t harm anyone who doesn’t deserve it.

Even in this f*****g state.

“Okay, can someone please tell me why the heck the whole house trembled?” Debbie exclaimed as she let herself into my office.

I swear, I’m only a second away from losing my mind, and she starts with those sarcastic and stupid comments, I might break my golden rule.

“Debbie, not now,” Ethan pleaded.

As her cousin, he felt the need to protect her, and the threat was me.

A rabid Alpha because her mate wasn’t by his side.

“I only came inside because I thought there was an earthquake until I realized the only house that moved was this…” She paused. “What the hell happened to the wall?”

“Don’t ask questions you already know the answer to,” I growled, running a hand through my hair and pacing like a caged animal. My control was fraying-every inhale burned, every exhale was a snarl waiting to rip out of my throat.

Debbie arched a brow, completely unfazed. “So, you punched it again. Great. Do you want me to start bringing spare drywall every time something happens to your mate?”

“Debbie,” Ethan warned, stepping slightly in front of her, but she just rolled her crossed her arms.

eyes and

“Don’t ‘Debbie’ me,” she shot back. “I’m not going to tiptoe around him because his emotions are throwing a tantrum. We need to think, not redecorate with rage.”

My head snapped toward her, eyes glowing gold. “Watch your mouth.”

She didn’t flinch. “Or what? You’ll break another wall? Go ahead. There’s a whole house full of them. Maybe you’ll find Irina under one of the bricks.”

Arlo snarled so loud inside me I thought I’d lose it. My claws were threatening to tear through my skin, but gods help me-Debbie was impossible to intimidate. Always had been. Always w ould be.

“Enough,” Ethan snapped, stepping between us. “Debbie, stop pushing him. Aiden-control

your damn wolf before you destroy the whole house.”

I gritted my teeth, chest heaving, forcing Arlo back down. He resisted, clawing at the edges of my mind, begging to be unleashed.

Debbie’s tone softened just a fraction. “Look, I know you’r

ing it, but yelling and breaking s**t isn’t going to help her. Irina’s not the type to roll over and wait to be rescued.”

Her words hit something deep in me-truth.

“She’s strong,” Debbie continued, her eyes steady on mine. “Smart. If someone took her, it’s because she let them think they could. You told me she has changed a lot. I didn’t see it, but the fact that two Alphas were impressed with her transformation means she is as fragile as she looks.”

“She’s hurting,” I ground out. “I can feel it. The bond’s weaker by the hour.”

“Then use that,” she said. “Don’t let anger consume you, but use that to fuel and kill the people who took her.”

The air was tense, thick enough to choke on. For a moment, I just stared at her, but my fury was slowly dissipating.

This is why I haven’t thrown Debbie out of the pack, even though she gets on my nerves and bows before nobody.

“Debbie, I-”

The door opened, and again, rage filled my whole body. I could let what happened with Debbie slide; she was a member of my pack, but not this.

Kael stood in the doorframe, his chest heaving as if he had run a freaking marathon to my office. He always had a cold face, totally different from Derek’s, but this time, he looked like a madman.

“Kael,” I warned, stepping forward, letting my aura slip so he would know he was trespassing. “You are a Beta, stepping into an Alpha’s office. You should turn around and leave before I-”

Debbie frowned, clearly confused. “Aiden, who is he?”

Ethan blinked between them, and then his gaze snapped to mine. “Aiden, uh… I think we should let them alone…”

What?

Kael looked like he was in a trance. Even though I had stepped forward and was in his line of
