Fake Heiress True Luna (Irina) novel Chapter 89

Chapter 12: Irina Won

Aiden’s POV

“It’s the end of the day, Alpha. The rest of our guests have arrived, and it is time to see who dared challenge you tomorrow,” Ethan said with a smile on his face.

I quirked an eyebrow. “You look too excited, and you are supposed to be my Beta,” I reminded

him.

Ethan shrugged. “Well,” he said, clasping his hands behind his back with theatrical enthusiasm, “you’ll see the list yourself soon enough. It’s… interesting.”

I narrowed my eyes. “Ethan.”

He lifted both brows. “Yes, Alpha?”

“What did you do?”

“I swear, I didn’t do anything, but I saw some… interesting people putting their names in.”

I crossed my arms to stop myself from pinching the bridge of my nose.

“And you won’t tell me until I look at the names myself, right?” He nodded.

Goddess… give me patience.

Considering how excited he is, I’m guessing there will be an Alpha’s name. Derek, I doubt it.

He is not interested in Shadow Pack, but I can’t say the same for the other Alphas.

“At least Serim didn’t come,” I said, already standing up to follow Ethan.

“It would be stupid of him to come. His pack didn’t treat Irina right.”

Neither has ours…

I thought, but didn’t voice it out.

“Let’s get this over with,” I muttered.

We walked down the long hallway toward the training grounds. I could already hear the scattered voices outside-the warriors, the visitors, the curious wolves who wanted to see

the board before dinner.

The moment we stepped out, several wolves straightened, bowing their heads.

“Alpha,” they greeted in unison.

“Show me the list,” I ordered.

One of the senior warriors swallowed and handed me the list. The second I unfolded it, Ethan’s laughter exploded beside me.

One of the senior warriors swallowed and handed me the parchment.

I stared at the first name.

This had to be a joke.

“The hell is this?” I demanded.

Ethan wiped a tear of laughter. “A masterpiece.”

I glared at him, then looked back at the list.

There were names I expected-overconfident young warriors hoping to “prove themselves,” a handful of older wolves who always wanted to test their strength, and even two Alphas from smaller packs.

Of course, Ethan had put his name there as well.

“I’m not going easy on you,” I warned, already thinking about how to arrange all these challenges.

Given how many there were, I should split the fights into three days.

“Yeah, I already knew that, Alpha,” Ethan chuckled.

I shook my head, but couldn’t help but smirk. It was going to be a fun night.

Or so I thought, until a warrior approached and gave me another list.

“What’s this?” I asked, already unfolding it.

“The Luna said everyone could challenge her. This is her list,” He explained.

The moment I read it…

THE f**k IS THIS?!

“Aiden, are you okay?” Ethan suddenly asked, tense.

I scrunched the paper in my hands, ready to destroy it, because just like Irina had predicted.

There was only one name.

Karen Reymond.

Ethan leaned closer. “Damn… she dared.”

Arlo roared. “OVER MY HEAD BODY!”

I folded the parchment slowly. Very slowly.

“Ethan.”

“Yes, Alpha?”

“Remove her name.”

He blinked. “Uh… you can’t.”

I stared at him. “Ethan.”

“I can’t because… well… the Luna already warned me.”

I turned my head. “She warned you about what?”

“She told me if you tried to remove Karen’s name, she would challenge her instead.”

For fu-

“My mate… she sometimes can be a pain in the ass.”

Ethan lifted both hands in surrender. “I don’t think that about the Luna; she is doing the same thing you are.”

“Exactly,” I grunted and finished sketching the battles for tomorrow. I would leave Irina’s fight at the end, so I have time to convince Karen to withdraw her name.

“Come on! Don’t tell me you are going to act like those assholes in Blue Moon?” Ethan questioned.

I finished, and without answering him, turned around and headed back to the house.

“Aiden! Don’t get mad at me. I’m just the messenger.”

I gritted my teeth, jaw ticking. “She really said that?”

“Word for word,” he confirmed. “The Luna knew Karen would put her name, and for some reason, she was also certain you would lose your mind if she were right.”

“Of course she was! She tried to bet with me, but I told her no. I don’t want her to fight Karen.”

Chapter 12. Irina Won

“Why?” Ethan questioned. I stopped in my halt and turned around to glare at him. “Don’t look at me like that. Irina is not weak, you know that.”

“This woman,” I muttered under my breath, “is going to give me wrinkles.”

Ethan snorted. “You already have one. Right there.” He pointed to my forehead.

I raised a brow slowly. “You know, Ethan… you’re awfully brave for someone who signed up to fight me tomorrow.”

He smothered his laugh immediately.

“That’s what I thought.”

I closed my eyes for a moment, trying to calm the wolf clawing at my insides. Karen

Reymond. Of all people. Of all wolves to challenge my Luna. It wasn’t even a real challenge. was a provocation. A petty, pathetic reach to stir trouble.

Irina knew that.

And she chose to accept it anyway.

“Why is that b***h’s name on the board?” Debbie asked as she stepped into the training grounds.
