Fake Heiress True Luna (Irina) novel Chapter 90

Chapter 13: Having Fun

Irina’s POV

“Stay still, girl! I want to finish your makeup.” Debbie exclaimed, gripping my chin so my head would stay up as she tried to apply my mascara.

“I am still,” I muttered.

“No, you’re breathing aggressively. Stop it.”

I rolled my eyes, but I didn’t argue. Mostly because the woman was holding mascara dangerously close to my eyeball.

Debbie leaned back and clicked her tongue in satisfaction. “There. Perfect. Now-dress.”

She held up the orange dress she had chosen, and I hate to admit it, but it was gorgeous; it looked like a sunset made with silk, but…

“Debbie-”

“Nope,” she cut me off instantly. “Don’t even start. This color is perfect for you. Makes your skin glow. Makes your eyes pop. Makes your mate lose the ability to articulate.”

“That last one is not a reason.”

Debbie cackled. “It is absolutely a reason. You know Karen will be there; it is your time to

shine and show her who the real Luna is.”

I let out a slow breath and stepped into the dress. Debbie zipped it up and smoothed the fabric lovingly.

And damn it… she was right.

The dress hugged my waist, flowed around my legs, and made me look like I was born to

wear it.

Debbie circled around me, grabbing my hair, twisting it into soft, messy curls, and adding a simple gold pin that sat just at the crown of my head.

“There,” she whispered. “Now that looks like a Luna.”

My throat tightened slightly.

Even though I know I am the Luna, it still hits me when someone else says it.

Debbie rested a hand on my shoulder. “So…” she began casually. “Are you actually going through with it?”

I turned toward her slowly. “Going through with what?”

She arched a brow. “Don’t play dumb. Are you going to fight Karen?”

Silence filled the room for a moment.

I inhaled, straightened my back, and nodded.

“Yes,”

Debbie blinked. “Because you want to?”

“Yes,” I repeated firmly.

She studied me. “Even though Aiden doesn’t want you to?”

I felt a small smile tug at my lips. “Especially because Aiden doesn’t want me to.”

Debbie snorted. “That man is going to combust. Ethan told me he almost lost his mind when he saw her name and asked him to destroy the list. Good thing you talked to him first.”

I shrugged. “He needs to learn that I am not made of glass. Besides, there is no way she is going to stop unless I teach her a lesson. The downside is Aiden decided to put my fight last.

“I know, but considering what will happen today, I doubt the rest of the challenges against your mate will stand.”

I chuckled. “Ethan is very brave for deciding to fight Aiden. I will enjoy the fight, even if your dear cousin ends up like a meatball.”

“He is dumb,” Debbie deadpanned. “And loves to get on Aiden’s nerves, but at least this time it will help him out instead of stressing him.”

I snorted. “You may be right. Let’s see what happens after the ceremony and if your cousin can keep being Beta.”

She shrugged. “He’s built like a tree; he’ll survive.”

I shook my head, but a smile pulled at my lips. I had to look at the bright side; tonight it

would be fun.

Debbie continued, and I continued speaking as we opened the door, only to find her mate and mine right outside.

I quirked an eyebrow. “How long have you two been outside?” I asked.

Kael blushed, while Aiden grabbed my arm to pull me against him. “A few minutes,” He assured, kissing the top of my head. “Are you two finally ready?”

I glanced at Debbie, who was wearing a beautiful yellow dress; since it was the Harvest Moon, everyone wore clothes related to the colors of autumn-warm, bright, loud, alive. Debbie looked like a spark of sunlight with her red hair. I… looked like fire.

“It was worth waiting,” Kael murmured, his eyes softening as he pulled Debbie into his side.

Aiden didn’t soften.

His gaze dragged over me from head to toe, slow enough that I felt heat prickle my neck beneath the curls Debbie had painstakingly arranged. His hand tightened on my waist, thumb brushing the fabric as if he wanted the piece of cloth gone.

“Mine,” he whispered under his breath-barely audible, but I heard it.

Debbie grinned, leaning toward me. “Told you. Completely unable to articulate.”

Aiden shot her a glare, but he didn’t deny it.

“Let’s go,” he finally said, clearing his throat as if trying to regain composure. “They’re already gathering.”

He offered me his arm. I slid my hand into the crook of his elbow, and the tension in his shoulders eased instantly.

We stepped outside, and everyone immediately hushed. I glanced around to see if I could catch a glimpse of Derek and Cindy, but they were nowhere to be found.

“Let’s hope that is because they are together,” Theia said.

“Yeah… I hope they solve their differences.”

Many of our pack members came to greet us the moment we stepped into the lantern-lit courtyard. The air buzzed with excitement-warm golds and reds from the harvest decorations reflecting in their eyes as they bowed, smiled, whispered.

“Luna.”

“Alpha.”

“Happy Harvest Moon.”

Their voices felt different tonight. Not forced. Not polite. Curious. Respectful. Almost…

proud.

Aiden straightened beside me, subtly pulling me even closer. His hand covered mine on his arm, thumb brushing slow circles into my skin like he was grounding both of us.

“Damn.” Debbie muttered under her breath. “Look at them staring like you’re the main

attraction.”

I elbowed her lightly. “Stop.”

“I won’t. I love this for you. This is the way they should behave.”

I kept my face composed, but warmth bloomed in my chest.

Theia hummed in the back of my mind, preening. “They should look at you. They’re finally seeing their Luna.”
