My eyelashes quivered slightly. I anticipated some half-hearted words of comfort, yet what followed was his voice-grave and earnest. “We’re on the verge of bonding by the Moon Goddess’ vow, our destinies intertwined. Should you stumble, so will I, and the Silver-Maned Pack’s standing will suffer. Protecting you is tantamount to safeguarding our shared future.”
His wasn’t mere flattery; it was a pledge from a powerful Alpha-more stirring than any oath. The sense of duty and connection embedded in his words left me deeply moved. A lump formed in my throat, and a warm rush welled up in my eyes. Hastily, I dropped my head to hide the emotion.
Leonardo’s POV:
The news reached me in the afternoon. Without hesitation, I had the trending topic axed from the online hotlist and initiated an immediate investigation.
Even before Natalie took steps, I’d already rallied the Silver-Maned Pack’s forces to get to the bottom of things and put a stop to the spread. Our actions were almost in lockstep. By the time my team intervened, Norman had just been handed over to the cops. And make no mistake, I wouldn’t tolerate anyone mistreating my fiancée and getting away scot-free.
As we embraced, a bombshell dropped on the internet: a recording of Aaliyah’s conversation with Norman, along with the bank transfer records. In the recording, Aaliyah was badmouthing Natalie, goading Norman to dredge up old school memories to “expose” her.
The evidence was damning. Public opinion did a complete about-face, and all the arrows were now pointed at Aaliyah, the scheming Omega lurking in the shadows. People were now digging into the so- called “most beautiful campus female tutor,” with rumors flying about her jealousy and attempts to wreck others’ relationships. Meanwhile, Natalie’s information remained under wraps, while Aaliyah found herself in the eye of the storm.
Landon’s POV:
A sharp, jarring buzz from the phone yanked me out of a light slumber. On the screen, more than a dozen missed calls from Grace blinked menacingly, like a series of urgent, foreboding alarms. Meanwhile, beside me, Aaliyah jolted awake, too. Her phone lit up with a flurry of messages from friends, each ping a reminder of the approaching storm.
Without hesitation, we both reached for our phones. What we saw on the trending page was nothing short of a disaster.
Headlines like “Aaliyah’s Spreading Lies” and “Once-Adored Tutor’s Reputation in Tatters” were like a swarm of angry hornets, stinging at my sanity.
The class group chat had turned into a battlefield. Students who once sang Aaliyah’s praises now turned into a mob, bombarding her with demands for an explanation.
It was a nightmare.

Aaliyah let out a horrified shriek and quickly averted her eyes, fumbling to exit the chat. Pale as a ghost, she grabbed my arm so tightly that her nails dug into my skin. “Landon, what are we gonna do? This is a total mess!”
Panic washed over me like a cold wave, but it was soon replaced by a searing anger. “You’re scared now? Where was this fear when you were pulling all these stunts?” I shook off her grip, sprang out of bed, and started throwing on clothes. “The damage is done. There’s no way I can cover this up for you!”
My mind immediately went to Natalie. If she saw the evidence and realized Aaliyah was the mastermind. I was doomed. She was already distant; this would be the final nail in the coffin. I had to see her, explain everything, and salvage our relationship.
