Leonardo’s POV:

Fiona’s words plunged her into silence. I guessed Miranda might’ve spilled the beans about my mom, who passed away not long after my birth. I had always blamed myself for taking her life.

“Yeah, I got it. Don’t worry,” Natalie murmured before ending the call.

When she turned to me, her eyes turned soft and resolute, brimming with a tenderness that made my heart skip a beat. “Leonardo, let’s bond today,” she declared.

Her words sent a jolt of elation through me. I cleared my throat, trying to compose myself. She reached out and grabbed my hand. “But hey, you still owe me a proper proposal,” she reminded me.

“You bet. It’s on,” I promised, squeezing her hand tightly.

We made it to the Temple of the Moon Goddess with ten minutes to spare before closing time. The priest led us through the ancient vows, and our breaths intertwined in the sacred space. As the Moonlit Stone Bracelets were fastened around our wrists, a warm, magical bond took root in our hearts.

The old priest couldn’t help but gush, “You two are a match made in heaven. The Moon Goddess smiles upon you.”

I beamed with joy. “Thanks for the kind words,” I replied.

After we stepped out of the vow chamber, Natalie’s cheeks were still rosy. I held her hand like it was the most precious thing in the world. “Leonardo, you totally upstaged all the other guys in there,” she quipped.

“What about you?” I asked, grinning down at her.

As we stepped out of the temple gates, an unexpected figure emerged from the adjacent notary’s office-it was Landon. He looked haggard, irritably loosening his tie. When he looked up, his eyes locked onto us, or rather, on our clasped hands adorned with the brand-new Moonlit Stone Bracelets, and the lingering blush of happiness on Natalie’s face.

Landon’s POV:

I’d just finished those pesky overseas formalities for Nathan, and I was beat, both physically and mentally. My family had pressured me to send him off first and then dissolve the legal adoption. It was like having my flesh carved away bit by bit, but if I wanted to see my son in the future, I had no choice.

Absentmindedly, I loosened my tie, trying to ease the tightness in my chest. When I looked up, it felt like my heart stopped.

A few feet away, Natalie was nestled in a man’s arms. This guy was tall and imposing, oozing the cool charm of a top-notch Alpha. Just then, he leaned down and gently kissed the top of her head.

And on their wrists, the Moonlit Stone Bracelets sparkled brightly.

No way! This couldn’t be real!

I almost blurted out her name, but a staff member called from behind, “Mr. Richardson! You left your Identity Crystal Card here!”

. I took the card stiffly. When I looked up again, they were gone. I rushed outside the temple, but with

people coming and going, there was no sign of them. For a moment, I thought I might have hallucinated because of all the stress..

Natalie had taken the Moon Goddess’ vow with someone else? How was that possible?

Not ready to give up, I went back to the registration desk at the Temple of the Moon Goddess.

“May I ask your relationship with the person you’re inquiring about?” The Beta clerk at the desk looked up at me, sizing me up. “According to the rules, only the individual themselves or their soul-bonded mate who holds the Identity Crystal Card can obtain the bonding information.”
