Chapter 155 The Perfect Moment
Natalie’s POV:
Leonardo’s words sent a shock through the room, sparking quiet, barely suppressed murmurs.
“Witnessed by the Moon Goddess? They’ve already completed the mate bond?”

“If Leonardo has already formed the mate bond with Natalie, how could she possibly have a bond with anyone else?”
“So that man earlier is indeed maliciously slandering her. Who would dare slap the Sanchez family in the face like that?”
The whispers swelled like a tide, but Leonardo stood at the center-unshakable as a mountain-his figure cast in a sharp shadow by the lights. With just a few sentences, he had completely turned the situation. around and also stirred up turbulent waves in my chaotic heart.
Tears welled in my eyes, and I quickly lowered my head, trying to hide my emotion. My hand twitched, wanting to hold his back. But he only gripped it tighter, until our fingers were laced together securely. The warmth of his knuckles seemed to seep through my skin, directly soothing my heart.
Not far away, Victoria suddenly stood up, her movement so abrupt she bumped the table, toppling a glass. The wine spilled on her expensive gown, but she seemed not to notice. Her face was a picture of stunned disbelief and pain. She couldn’t believe Leonardo really had completed the mate bond with me.
An elder from the Thompson family frowned disapprovingly and coughed heavily. Her mother immediately pulled her back down into her seat.
Samuel’s POV:
Sitting opposite Victoria, I had a perfect view of her reaction. Leonardo’s announcement had taken me by surprise. I originally thought I could use this to make Natalie lose the Sanchez family’s backing. I never expected Leonardo to be so decisive, standing by Natalie’s side without hesitation.
But seeing Victoria’s reaction gave me a new idea. I’d heard a little about Leonardo and Victoria’s past. The fact that Leonardo had no fixed mate by his side for years seemed connected to Victoria, his childhood friend. But the Sanchez family was always so secretive. The rumors were tight-lipped, and I never managed to dig anything up.
It was a pity that women’s emotions were the hardest to hide. Victoria certainly didn’t look like someone suffering from unrequited love.
Maybe Leonardo’s rapid fixation on Natalie was also to make someone else jealous? I picked up my glass, a playful smile curling my lips.
Penelope’s POV:
Leonardo’s move completely disrupted my plans and instead made me look like a clown. I forcefully suppressed my churning anger, plastering an impeccable smile back on my face. But my gaze turned sharp as it shifted towards the Sanchez family elders..

“So you’ve already completed the mate bond?” I feigned surprise, but my tone carried a sharp, questioning edge. “Then it seems that man was indeed spouting nonsense. But Mr. Sanchez is certainly swift to act. It was such a significant matter, but our Moon-Shadowed Pack was completely unaware. Natalie didn’t tell us either. Could it be that the esteemed elders of the Sanchez family were also kept in the dark?”
Natalie’s POV:
Penelope’s casual words shifted the focus back onto me and accurately dropped another bombshell, completing the mate bond without the formal acknowledgment of the packs. Among ordinary werewolf packs that didn’t emphasize protocol, this might not be a big deal. But in top-tier packs that valued tradition and face, it was undoubtedly rude and reckless.
Even if Leonardo defended me, if the Sanchez family elders expressed displeasure or outright denied prior knowledge, I would still be put on the defensive, possibly even blamed as the one who bewitched Leonardo. That way, even if the alliance marriage was called off later, all the blame could be placed on me.
Everyone there was sharp-who wouldn’t see Penelope was giving them an opening? If the Sanchez family wanted to keep up appearances by sacrificing me, this was their chance.
Miranda’s POV:
Ryan’s face remained calm, still silent, making his stance hard to read. I looked anxiously at my husband, barely able to hold back from speaking up to defend Natalie.
In my view, Natalie having a past wasn’t some major crime. Besides, she grew up alone and unprotected. Even after being with Leonardo, she might not feel secure. Wasn’t it normal that she didn’t tell us about her past?
Moreover, Leonardo rarely cared so deeply about a woman. I didn’t want to see either of them embarrassed.
