Apologize to this low-class Omega? Resentment and rage clouded my vision. I almost lost control my wolf eyes threatening to surface.
I had been part of the Richardson family for half my life. I had always had a fiery temper and never taken disrespect lying down. This was the first time I felt so wronged that tears nearly fell.
The maids kept their heads bowed. Aaliyah looked at me with her chin held high, a triumphant gleam in her eyes. The pain in my chest was sharp and gnawing.
Aaliyah said, “Grace, Louisa is right. I don’t really want an apology from you. But your violence frightens Nathan. For the sake of your grandson, you should set a good example. When you’re wrong, you should
admit it.”
Her words were measured and soft, yet they were like a sharp, invisible slap across my face.
Under Louisa’s gaze, I clenched my jaw so hard it ached. I forced myself to say, “I’m sorry.”
I let out a scornful laugh. “Aaliyah, you win.”
“Grace, please don’t say that. How can anyone be a winner when the family is in discord?” Aaliyah said, then simply nodded at Louisa. She took Nathan’s hand and walked away without a backward glance.
I, the lady of the Richardson Villa, was humiliated like never before in my life. The moment Aaliyah was gone, I turned to Louisa, my voice thick with grievance. “Louisa, this is killing me.”
“Enough. I know it’s hard for you.” Louisa soothed me. She told me to endure it a little longer. Once the company went public in a few months, she would make Aaliyah move out.
Louisa’s POV:
After dealing with Grace, I left with my maids and returned to my room. Thinking about Aaliyah’s behavior made me furious. A dull ache spread through my chest. I knocked over the coffee a maid had brought. Shards and liquid splattered across the floor.
I thought the Richardson family would be fine even without Natalie. I never expected a scourge like Aaliyah to appear.
I suddenly thought of Natalie, and my heart felt worse. Whenever I had conflicts with Grace before, Natalie always sensed my mood. She used her cleverness to find ways to cheer me up.
No matter how poorly Grace acted, with Natalie at home, everything was always orderly and harmonious.
Landon’s POV:
I hadn’t even gotten home that evening when I received a tearful phone call from my mother.
Stepping into the Richardson Villa, the oppressive, heavy atmosphere was suffocating. I went straight to

my mother’s bedroom. She lay on the bed, her face pale. The doctor said it was a sudden surge of anger, showing symptoms of myocarditis.
“Mom, why get so angry? Your health is what matters most.” Seeing my mother lying there, pale and weak, my heart tightened. My dissatisfaction with Aaliyah surged up again.
“You don’t care if I live or die anyway.” She turned her head away, tears falling.
angry
My heart ached. “How could I not care, Mom? I know it’s all my fault. Please don’t be with me. Get better quickly. I’ll do anything you want.”
“Then I want you to break the bond with Aaliyah.” She sat up abruptly, grabbing my hand, her blazing. “You have to choose between her and me!”
I frowned, unable to respond. Breaking the bond? That was no trivial matter.
