Leonardo said once he returned, we would hold our mate bonding ceremony and give ourselves completely to each other.
The sincerity in his eyes couldn’t have been fake. And I really did like him.
It was different from the feeling of gratitude and dependence I had when Landon pursued me. Because I no longer wanted to seek security from anyone else.
What I felt for Leonardo was pure admiration, affection, and love.
I just wanted to walk through the rest of my life hand in hand with him. No matter the path ahead, I just wanted to walk it by his side.
But the premise was that Leonardo could not be someone who deceived me.
“Ms. Anderson?” Someone called my name a few times before I realized I’d spaced out again. The proposal on the screen was waiting for my feedback.
I quickly pulled myself together, flipped through the documents, and pointed out a few key
items.
After the meeting, I passed through the common area and noticed Lily and the others looking at me. I gave them a faint smile, meant to say “don’t worry,” and said nothing.
Lily’s POV:
“Lily, Natalie doesn’t look good. Did I mess up?” the girl who first sent the message that morning asked guiltily. She’d seen the news and forwarded it without thinking. Natalie was Moon-Shadowed Pack’s heiress now. She could stand on her own without a man. Even though Leonardo was great, he was too dazzling. If he was involved with another woman, Natalie needed to see it clearly and fast.
“Yes,” I said unhappily, poking her forehead. “Couldn’t you have mentioned it to Natalie privately? Posting it in the group chat for discussion just clouds her judgment. And we don’t have the full story. How can you jump to conclusions?”
She realized her mistake and looked at me with sad eyes. “Lily, what should I do? Go apologize
to Natalie?”
“Don’t cause more trouble.” With that, I picked up a file and headed to Natalie’s office.

After knocking and entering, I saw Natalie sitting at her desk, arms crossed, looking at her computer. It seemed like work, but more like she was lost in thought.
I said, “Natalie, here are the contracts for a few projects. Please review them.”
“Okay, leave them there. I’ll look at them later.” Natalie’s voice was soft, giving nothing away.
But I noticed she was holding her phone the whole time. Normally, when she worked, she was extremely focused and almost never touched her phone, leaving it somewhere else.
I frowned, feeling a pang in my heart.
I knew Natalie was used to hiding behind a calm facade.
When Landon hurt her, Natalie didn’t show a single sign of being upset the entire time. She acted perfectly normal right up until she left the Richardson Group.
Even now, I still couldn’t imagine how someone could keep working, plotting revenge, and even moving on after years of emotional deception and betrayal.
I admired Natalie a lot. Just thinking about my own simmering hatred made me restless.
I just hoped Natalie wouldn’t get hurt like that again. It wasn’t worth it for a man.
It was like my friend. She had a better background and brighter future than me. She could have had a much happier life.
But she just had to…
Even though I knew Natalie wouldn’t, I still worried.
Natalie had held on for so long. I knew what Leonardo meant to her when she was vulnerable.
Even I couldn’t help but feel a flicker of hope about love when I saw Leonardo.
Natalie’s POV:
“Natalie,” Lily said.
“Hmm?” I didn’t look up, just acknowledged her gently.
She said, “Don’t take the group chat messages to heart. Nobody knows what’s really going on. And… I trust your judgment.”
I looked up and saw Lily’s concerned eyes fixed on me.

I couldn’t help but smile, “Thanks for worrying, but I’m fine. I don’t believe Leonardo is still involved with Victoria.”
Lily knew me well, so there was no point hiding it. For a moment there, I had been upset and conflicted. Old wounds had twinged briefly, but my reason quickly returned.
If this gossip were true, with Leonardo’s resources, he would never have let those photos get out. More importantly, I still trusted him-trusted his character and his sense of responsibility as the head of Silver-Maned Pack.
I was just wondering. What was it that Leonardo couldn’t tell me? What was it Victoria had been trying to say to me? Why was she so confident he couldn’t let her go?
“That’s good,” Lily said, relieved. “As long as you’re not upset, there’s always a solution. That’s what you told me before.”
I nodded, my smile deepening. “By the way, has Samuel been giving you any more trouble?”
Lily’s eyes shifted. She hesitated before shaking her head. “But Natalie, there’s something I need to be honest about.”
“Go ahead,” I smiled.
She stated, “Samuel is interested in me.”
I froze, not understanding. Hadn’t she already told me about Samuel harassing her?
Lily paused, looked down, and continued, “I’m thinking of giving him a chance.”
“Lily, do you know what you’re saying?” I stood up abruptly and walked over to her. I reached out and felt her forehead.
