The extra-long car was sleek, black, and imposing. It instantly made every other vehicle around it look dull. All eyes were drawn to it. Even before the doors opened, hotel concierges and staff had lined up to greet it. Whoever was inside was clearly a major player.

“Who is that?” I gasped, grabbing James’ arm excitedly. He looked over, too.

With an entrance that grand, even James furrowed his brow in thought. “Could it be someone from the Moon-Shadowed Pack?”

The summit had invited top industry leaders and influential figures from other regions. But if people thought of big names in Maritime City, the Moon-Shadowed Pack was the first that came to mind.

I asked, “The Scott family? That heiress from the Moon-Shadowed Pack?”

My heart raced. I didn’t follow business news much, but the headlines about the Moon- Shadowed Pack’s inheritance drama were hard to forget.

The Scott family was the true top-tier in Maritime City! If we could just get in touch with them…

Curiosity took over. I pulled James closer, trying to catch a glimpse of the before we could get near, a team of security guards stopped us.

“What’s your business here?” The head guard sounded impatient.

“We’re…” I quickly looked at James.

James showed them our invitation. “We’re guests.”

person inside. But

“The entry channel is over there,” the guard said, pointing in the opposite direction.

James smiled and slipped a pack of premium cigars into the guard’s pocket. “My wife hasn’t seen much of the world. She’s just curious about who’s over there. Any chance we could take a quick look?”

The guard’s expression softened a little, but he still shook his head. “You’d better stay back. If you want to look, do it from here.”

With that, he walked away, leaving us alone. And at that exact moment, the car door opened.

Several bodyguards in black suits stepped out first, clearing a path. Then, a woman emerged.

I was so shocked I almost screamed, “She… she’s…”

James was startled. “Keep your voice down! This isn’t your home. What’s wrong with you?”

“Who is it?” James still hadn’t processed it. I stared, pointing frantically, my mouth hanging open as if I’d seen a ghost.

“Natalie!” I finally managed to shout her name.

I saw it clearly. The woman who stepped out of the car, surrounded by people, was Natalie.

It was just a brief glimpse, but my eyesight has always been good. I couldn’t have been mistaken!

“It’s her! The woman who got out of that car was Natalie!” I pointed, my voice trembling.

By the time James looked over, the woman was already being escorted by her guards toward the registration area, leaving only her back visible.

“Natalie? She’s here, too?” James was baffled. When he finally looked where I was pointing, only the security guards remained.

“The

person who stepped out of that car was Natalie!” I insisted urgently.

James chuckled, “Have you lost your mind? Even if Natalie is here, would she make an entrance like that? You must be seeing things.”

Hearing him say that made me doubt myself for a second.

I ignored him and rushed toward the registration desk. Sure enough, there she was, checking in, surrounded by bodyguards and assistants.

“Natalie!” I couldn’t get close, so I just yelled her name instead.

She paused, then slowly looked up. Through the crowd, her gaze locked directly onto me.

Those eyes were still the same, but the look in them was completely different. Back at the Richardson Villa, she always watched people with careful, timid unease. Now, her eyes held only a cold assessment, like a wolf sizing up prey that had wandered into its territory.

Natalie straightened up and turned to face me. It was her! That low-rank Beta who swindled our Thorn Pack’s company and assets!

Just then, James caught up and grabbed my arm. “Anna, stop making a scene. You can’t shout here…”

“Look for yourself!” I cut him off. “It’s Natalie!”

James’ POV:

I followed Anna’s gaze and froze. The woman really was Natalie!

She still had that same cool, striking beauty that made her stand out in a crowd. But her presence was entirely different from her days with the Richardson family.

Everything about Natalie was new-her style of dress, her demeanor. She exuded an intimidating sense of privilege and authority.

“Natalie?” I called out, moving to approach her, but her bodyguards immediately blocked my path.

Natalie glanced in our direction but gave no response. Then she turned to leave.

Anna shouted, “Natalie! Stop right there! Don’t you dare think you’re all that just because you conned our money and company. Who do you think you’re fooling? Do you really think you’re a CEO now?

“Listen, you bitch! You’re nothing but trash! You’re a sleazy, lowlife scammer!

“All the dirty things you’re doing now will come back to you one day! You’ll get what’s coming to you!”

Seeing Natalie ignore us pushed Anna over the edge. She forgot why we were even there. Struggling against the guards, she started shrieking and cursing.

“Anna, that’s enough!” I hissed, my face burning with embarrassment, but I couldn’t control her.

The commotion quickly drew the attention of nearby guests. Event security teams began rushing toward us.
