Fake Mate Beta Rises to Alpha Heiress (Natalie and Landon) novel Chapter 302

Chapter 302 Will You Help Me?

Natalie’s POV:

“Hmm,” Leonardo said, letting go. His voice was calm. “Reply to him.”

There was nothing unusual about his tone, but it was too calm-so calm it unnerved me.

I stole a glance at him. The smile was gone from his lips. He wasn’t frowning, but his focused stare at the phone screen gave nothing away.

“Are you angry?” I asked tentatively.

“No,” he said softly. “Why would I be angry? He complimented my mate. I should be happy.”

But there wasn’t a hint of happiness in his tone.

I immediately locked my phone. “Then I won’t reply. I’ll just pretend I didn’t see it.”

Leonardo didn’t respond, but the temperature in his pheromone dropped a few noticeable degrees—a werewolf’s instinctive reaction when displeased, impossible to fully mask even with strong control.

I gently nudged his chest with my elbow. “Don’t be jealous. He’s older than me.”

“I’m also older than you,” he said.

I paused, then continued, “He’s older than you, and it shows. He’s not as handsome.”

“You looked at him that closely?” Leonardo’s gaze drifted slowly back to my face.

I was speechless.

Okay, I was making it worse.

“Leonardo, don’t be jealous for no reason,” I said, looking seriously into his eyes. “You know I only have eyes for you.”

That worked better than any explanation. Leonardo glanced away, a faint smile returning to his face.

“Gallop Energy. I don’t like that company,” he said.

“I know. They’re your competitor, right?” I said. “I heard they’re setting up a branch in Maritime City.”

Finished

I was purely thinking of Leonardo. When I got this news today, my first thought was to tell him.

I knew he’d been annoyed lately. Gallop Energy was competing with them for an international project—a major new energy collaboration involving huge funds and strategic positioning.

Gallop Energy got into the new energy field earlier and had a slight edge over the Sanchez Group. But Ryan had had his eye on this project for a long time. The Sanchez Group had invested heavily and didn’t want it snatched away at the last minute.

The doorbell rang. Our food had arrived.

I slipped out of Leonardo’s arms, slipped on my slippers, and went to answer. We were both hungry.

I brought the dishes over, put on a movie, and settled in to have dinner with Leonardo.

This time, I’d picked a few indie films of various genres. When I let Leonardo choose, he surprisingly picked a very romantic love story.

It was about childhood friends. The girl had a crush on the boy first, but he didn’t notice her. Later, when she grew into an accomplished and captivating woman, he finally saw her charm, and a beautiful romance blossomed.

Leonardo seemed new to this genre and watched intently. I never imagined he’d be interested in this type of movie. During key emotional moments, he’d unconsciously grip my hand, shaking his head or frowning, clearly fully absorbed.

Though the movie touched me, Leonardo’s reactions were even more captivating. Watching him so engrossed made me smile.

When the movie ended, Leonardo lightly rubbed the bridge of his nose. His eyes were a bit

red.

“Are you okay?” I asked softly. “Need a

He waved a hand, slightly embarrassed. “No need.”

I didn’t believe him. He was clearly moved by the ending. The shot of the couple watching the sunset together, paired with the gentle soundtrack, had even made my own nose tingle,

“Alright, alright,” I teased, grinning. “So I’ve discovered that Mr. Sanchez is warm on the inside and quite sentimental. I haven’t cried watching a movie in ages.”

Leonardo gave me a resigned look. “I said I didn’t cry.”

“Fine, you didn’t cry,” I nodded, patting his shoulder as if comforting a child. “Watching a movie with you was very nice. We should do it again.”

With that, I efficiently turned off the TV, cleared the table, and walked humming toward the bedroom.

I was going to take a shower.

I had just taken off my clothes and wrapped a towel around myself when Leonardo followed me in.

I immediately turned my back. “Leonardo, I’m taking a shower. You should go…”

“It’s not like I haven’t seen you before. Why so shy?” he said deliberately, wrapping his arms around my waist from behind. With one upward tug, the towel slid down.

Even with my back to him, being suddenly exposed was embarrassing. I bent to pick up the towel, but he held my waist firmly, preventing me.

“Let’s shower together,” he said.

I refused, saying, “Don’t be silly…”

“It’s hard for me. Will you help me?” He used that excuse, then, without waiting for my consent, began untying his pajamas.

His pajamas came off easily, falling to the floor in an instant, covering my towel.

I knew he was doing it on purpose, but I was utterly outmaneuvered. Despite all my

precautions and self-restraint, I finally succumbed to the warmth of the shower.

Under the flowing water, everything felt weightless. Leonardo had recovered a lot, but I still chose to take more care of him… and the sex really didn’t last very long.

Leonardo held me afterward, his lips against my damp hair, sounding unwilling to stop. “From now on… can we have more every night?”

“Leonardo, you’re insane,” I chuckled softly, biting my lip, my face flushed.
