Fake Mate Beta Rises to Alpha Heiress (Natalie and Landon) novel Chapter 301

Chapter 301 You Looked Beautiful Today

Natalie’s POV:

“What do we do?” I said, looking into Leonardo’s eyes, “I’m starting to feel reluctant to leave this place.”

“Silly,” he chuckled softly, his lips brushing my ear. “This is your house. What is there to feel reluctant about?”

“After we move, we probably won’t come back here,” I said seriously.

Once the mate bonding ceremony was complete, we’d move into the home Leonardo had prepared. It would be bigger, more luxurious. But this place was the first real home I’d ever had in my life.

Beautiful fleeting moments always made me sentimental. That was why people always wished time could stand still.

Leonardo was quiet for a moment, his warm hand brushing the corner of my eye.

“If we can’t return here, there will be other beautiful views,” he said, his voice soft but firm. “Moving forward doesn’t always guarantee the best, but being happy right now, in this moment, is the best.”

Leonardo seemed like such a detached person. I didn’t think he’d understand my melancholy. Yet with just a few words, he eased all my apprehension.

I turned to look into his eyes. “Mr. Sanchez, when did you learn to talk like this?” I smiled. “Every word hits right where it should.”

Leonardo’s chest rose and fell gently. He looked at me with a focus as if I were his entire world.

“Probably… from the moment I met you,” he said, each word slow and deliberate. “When you love someone with your whole heart, when you feel them deeply, you sense everything about them.”

He paused, resting his forehead against mine. “I already see you as the other half of my soul. How could my words not reach your heart?”

His words made my eyes sting. I leaned in and kissed his lips, smiling, “Did you eat something sweet?”

The moment I pulled back, he kissed me again-not a deep kiss, just a gentle suck on my lip.

“Then you should taste it more often,” he said.

I was completely disarmed. How did Leonardo manage to say things that melted my bones while wearing that impossibly stern face?

I blinked at him, deliberately acting coy. “I’m hungry. But I don’t really want to move.

It was dark, and we hadn’t even turned on the lights. The living room was lit only by moonlight and city glow from the window. We were curled on the sofa, neither wanting to let go. I hadn’t even changed my clothes, only taken off my coat.

“Alright, I’ll cook for you,” Leonardo said, starting to get up.

I immediately grabbed his arm. “You’re a patient. You shouldn’t exert yourself. I’d feel bad if you cooked for me.”

I said it on purpose, whispering near his ear. I could feel his breathing instantly grow heavier.

The tips of Leonardo’s ears turned red, and his body temperature noticeably rose. He pressed my arm down. “Don’t feel bad. I want to.”

But despite his words, he didn’t actually get up. Instead, he pulled me closer, his fingers beginning to wander under my clothes.

I knew I couldn’t tease him any further. The doctor had repeatedly warned that his wounds needed time to heal and absolutely no strenuous activity.

I quickly turned and reached for my phone. “Let’s ask the hotel to deliver the food here.”

Leonardo’s movements were interrupted, but he wasn’t giving up. He pulled me back into his arms. “I want to see, too.”

“So what do you want to eat?” I opened the hotel’s ordering page and turned the screen toward him.

But Leonardo was completely distracted. No matter what dish I pointed to, he just said, “That’s fine,” “Looks good,” or “Not bad.” His eyes stayed fixed on my face as if it were more tempting than any food. His Adam’s apple bobbed noticeably faster.

Choosing like this would take forever. I simply made the decision myself, placed the order, and set the phone aside.

While we waited for the food, we continued to cuddle on the sofa. Leonardo was tall, and the couch was actually a bit cramped for both of us. But that extreme closeness fascinated me. It felt like we were truly trying to melt into one another,

Right then, I received a text.

I was leaning against Leonardo, playing a game on my phone. The moment the screen lit we both saw the first part of the message. “Ms. Anderson, you looked beautiful today…”

The atmosphere instantly chilled.

up,

I immediately turned to explain, but Leonardo’s finger was already tapping to open the full

message.

The complete text appeared, “Ms. Anderson, you looked beautiful today. May I ask which brand your outfit was from today? I’d like to get something for a friend.”

Seeming to know I might not have saved the number, the text ended with a note-Cameron.

“He’s the head of Gallop Energy,” I said quickly. “I spoke with him briefly at the venue today and gave him my card.”

For some reason, I felt a little guilty. I added, “My outfit is from a fairly niche brand, quite design-forward. Maybe he wants to buy something for his mate.”

If Cameron wanted to ask about the brand, why did he have to compliment me first?
