Fake Mate Beta Rises to Alpha Heiress (Natalie and Landon) novel Chapter 311

Chapter 311 The Most Loving Mate Pair

Lily’s POV:

The elevator doors closed, shutting out Natalie’s worried look. I leaned against the cold metal wall and let out a slow breath.

Samuel’s name was a poisoned thorn in my side. How could I possibly like him? Even if he were the last man on earth, I would never feel anything for him.

Natalie warned me that the girls Samuel targeted never ended well. I knew that better than anyone. Samuel was a demon!

He toyed with emotions, trampled on genuine feelings, scorned other people’s lives… He was a monster who deserved to die.

But precisely because I knew this, I needed to get close to him.

I knew my methods were foolish, but I wanted to make him pay, whatever it took.

Natalie was right. Playing with emotions with Samuel was like playing with fire.

If she knew the dark, extreme thoughts in my mind, she would stop me.

But for me, just ruining Samuel’s reputation was nowhere near enough!

Perhaps my tactics were working. These past few days, Samuel had clearly started changing his behavior for

me!

A few words of praise from me, like training an animal, had corrected some of his bad habits.

Samuel now said goodnight to me every single evening, right on time.

At the office, he was always there with his teasing, keeping me at arm’s length yet pulling me close.

I understood. In Samuel’s eyes, I was a fish slowly taking the bait.

But the more I played along on the surface, the more the impulse inside me to make him pay “a life for a life” spiraled out of control.

Sometimes, once the demon deep in a person’s heart was awakened, it couldn’t be stopped.

I had to admit, maybe I was not a good person either-not kind, not forgiving, extreme and dark.

Natalie’s POV:

I arrived home feeling irritated. In the elevator, I took a few deep breaths and forced a smile. That bastard

Samuel…

The door opened, and Fiona rushed over, throwing her arms around me. “Oh, Natalie’s home!” Her enthusiasm was as if we hadn’t seen each other for years, and she planted two kisses on my cheek. In reality, we’d met just days ago.

Fiona was glowing, clearly in a great mood.

Miranda also walked to the doorway with a smile. “Tired from work? I just brewed a few different coffees. Come taste them.”

“Okay!” Seeing them, the tension in my chest melted away instantly. Home was where family was-I felt that more clearly than ever at that moment. Inside this door was warmth and tenderness. No storm from the outside could touch me here.

Leonardo and Roger were in the living room. Roger loved military topics, and only Leonardo could keep up with him. Seeing me return, Leonardo immediately stood and walked over.

I had just taken a small sip of the coffee Miranda handed me when he leaned in. “You’re back.”

“Yeah.” When we were alone, our gazes locked, and our voices got all sweet and mushy, and that was fine. But with the elders here, the way he was looking at me so intently made me a little shy.

“Tired today?” He seemed oblivious to my embarrassment. He reached out and brushed a strand of hair from my forehead, completely unabashed.

“No.” I shook my head.

He didn’t say anything more, but everyone could see the longing in his eyes. His gaze was so intense it made my cheeks heat up. If I hadn’t unconsciously pressed my lips together, the way he tilted his head slightly almost seemed like he was about to kiss me.

“This coffee is really good. Want a taste?” I quickly lifted the cup to his lips.

The liquid wet the corner of his mouth, the sweet scent spreading.

“Oh, it might be a bit sweet. You probably won’t like it.” I pretended to pull my hand back.

“I like it.” He wrapped his hand around my wrist and took a sip from the cup I held. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed slowly. He then guided my hand, drinking the rest of the coffee himself.

“Young love is so sweet,” Miranda couldn’t stop smiling. She turned her head and whispered to Fiona, “Newlyweds are something else.”

Fiona’s POV:

I said proudly, “Of course.” Roger and I used to be the Sanchez family’s most devoted mates-but now I said the title belonged to Leonardo and Natalie.

Leonardo’s devotion to Natalie was unbelievable, not just to outsiders but even to us, his family, I still felt like I was dreaming. That Leonardo, who had always been/so solemn, cold, and rigid since he was a boy, turned out to be a deeply romantic soul at heart. I used to worry that his reserved nature and lack of charm would be unfair to a good girl. Seeing how affectionate the two of them were as mates, my heart was finally

at ease.

Natalie’s POV:

After resting for a few minutes, I hurried to the kitchen to help the servants prepare dinner. Leonardo tried to follow, but Roger pulled him back to continue discussing the news. Even so, halfway through it, he appeared by my side.

Normally, he would hug me from behind, but with so many people here today, I could feel him struggling to restrain himself. He just silently handed me plates.

“Don’t stand here. Go sit and rest,” I urged him while keeping an eye on the stove.

As soon as I spoke, his fingertips lightly brushed my temple-the thin layer of sweat there made him frown.

Miranda noticed the commotion by us, tied on an apron, and came over to help. “Natalie, you’ve made the main dishes. I’ll handle the rest,” she smiled, glancing at Leonardo. “Mainly because someone is about to burst from worrying about his mate.”

“Mom,” Leonardo called to her in a low voice, his ears turning red. Even he looked a bit embarrassed being teased by Miranda.

Miranda made a shooing gesture, laughing. Leonardo took the opportunity to pull me out of the kitchen.
