Chapter 314 He Was Shifting
Natalie’s POV:
Miranda covered her mouth, unable to believe Ryan had actually hit me.
Leonardo’s eyes narrowed sharply in that instant.

As I held my face, dizzy, I saw a terrifying red light flare in his eyes. That wasn’t a figure of speech. His eyes literally changed in that moment-shifting into the vertical pupils of a werewolf, visible when emotions run high. Deep within them, a network of red veins spread, glowing with a frightening light.
He shot to his feet, moving so fast he knocked over the heavy wooden chair with a jarring crash. The aura around him completely transformed. It was no longer suppressed silence, but a volatile force ready to explode.
The full, unrestrained pressure of a top-tier Alpha poured from him, even overpowering Ryan’s. The air grew thick and dangerous.
Seeing Leonardo completely lose control, Miranda’s face went pale. She grabbed Ryan’s arm. “Ryan! We’re leaving! Right now!”
Seeing that he’d hit me, a flash of shock and shame crossed Ryan’s face. That slap had carried genuine Alpha strength.
This time, Ryan didn’t shake Miranda off.
Fiona was trembling with rage, but she only shot Ryan a fierce glare before hurrying over with a servant to help me up.
I really was dazed. My cheek burned, and my neck was wrenched. With their support, I barely managed to stand, my head still spinning.
“Leonardo.” But the second my senses cleared, I called his name.
I was so worried about him. From the moment Ryan entered, his state had been wrong. I could feel that force inside him, restless, battering against his reason. And now, it seemed it had been blown wide open.
Leonardo’s gaze rested on me for less than a second.
He looked up, fixing his eyes on Ryan. Those eyes, now completely the vertical slits of a beast, glowed with a scarlet light and filled with pure, destructive rage. Even I felt a wave of primal fear just from looking at him.
My brow furrowed tightly. I opened my mouth, but no sound came out.
“Stop.” Just as Ryan turned to leave with Miranda, Leonardo’s voice cut through the air.
It was low and gravelly, no longer human at all. It sounded more like a growl forced from the depths of a beast’s throat. Every syllable carried a bone-chilling pressure.
He took a step toward Ryan.
As he passed the table, his fingers-their joints now visibly enlarged-dragged across the surface. His

fingernails were visibly darkening, sharpening, and lengthening.
He didn’t pick up a weapon.
He didn’t need one.
Because he himself was becoming the weapon.

I could hear the faint, unsettling crackling of his bones rearranging beneath his skin. His shoulders broadened, the muscles of his back swelling, stretching his expensive shirt into a terrifying shape. Beneath his exposed skin, dark blue veins bulged.
He was shifting.
“You hit her, and you think you can just walk away?” Leonardo’s voice grew more guttural. His canines had pierced his lower lip, glinting coldly.
Watching the changes in his body, my heart clenched, almost stopping.
“Leonardo, don’t! Look at me! I’m okay. I’m really okay…” I tried to call him back to reason, my voice trembling uncontrollably. I knew if he lost control completely, the consequences would be unthinkable. A top-tier Alpha losing control and fully shifting could destroy everyone in this house.
Fiona’s focus was entirely on me. She obviously sensed Leonardo’s transformation, too, her face ashen. She tried to shield me and guide me back to the bedroom, but I shook my head firmly and pulled my hand free. I couldn’t leave. I couldn’t leave him alone here, facing his father’s provocation, facing the beast inside him that was about to break free.
Seeing his son in this fully bestial, aggressive state only angered Ryan again. Any trace of guilt vanished.
He shouted, “What? You’re my son! Can’t I discipline you? She threw herself in the way. Is that
my fault?”
He didn’t retreat. Instead, he stepped forward, confronting Leonardo head-on. The Alpha aura of a former leader erupted from him in full force, trying to dominate. “Look at yourself! Losing control over a little stimulus? Is the future leader of the Silver-Maned Pack just a madnian who can’t even keep a lid on his own instincts?”
“Madman…” Leonardo forced the word from his throat. His lips twisted into a distorted, inhuman smile, revealing fully-formed fangs.
“Leonardo! Don’t listen to him! Look at me!” I shouted desperately, ignoring the pain in my face as I moved
closer.
But it was too late,
“I am your father!” Ryan stood his ground, his face flushed with anger and the strain of their clashing auras, “Besides, you bear most of the responsibility for today! Leonardo, stop always playing the victim, acting like the whole world wronged you.
“Look at this weak, pathetic version of you, unable to master your own instincts! Is this how you honor your mother, who fought to give birth to you, who passed her Alpha bloodline to you?
“What are you staring at? Going to lose it again? Couldn’t maintain the act of being a normal werewolf anymore, could you? I always knew deep down you were just a…”
