Chapter 333 Ordinary Mated Couple
Natalie’s POV:
Waking up in Leonardo’s arms brought an indescribable sense of security. His Alpha scent surrounded me, powerful yet gentle. My phone showed several missed calls, mostly work- related, but a message from Fiona warmed my heart.
She had keenly sensed the tension between us. She didn’t press for details, instead sharing wisdom from her decades-long love with Roger. She said a bond born from the heart should be nurtured with the heart.
She said Leonardo’s emotions burned fiercely, but weren’t as resilient as my own strength. That made me a little embarrassed. My “strength” probably came more from a past where I had nothing and had to be self-reliant.
I sent Leonardo the screenshot, joking that he should make it his lock screen. I didn’t expect him to actually do it. This man, who commanded absolute authority in front of others, the leader of the Silver-Maned Pack, sometimes showed this almost naive determination. It made my heart melt.
To reassure Fiona, we went straight to the Sanchez Estate and had a meal with Roger and Fiona.
In the afternoon, Aaron arrived with a luxury property manager and two werewolf bodyguards to accompany us to view a few selected homes.
The most exclusive one was called Cloudveil Manor. Its scale and opulence almost rivaled the Sanchez Estate itself, with a staggering price tag nearing six hundred million dollars. Leonardo clearly favored this one. He only wanted the best for me, price be damned.
I had considered choosing something more modest, but he kept asking, “Do you like it? Is it satisfactory?” Seeing the naked expectation in his eyes, his desire to build the perfect home for me, I nodded. He decided to buy it immediately.
Once word got out that Cloudveil Manor would be our residence, it would cause a stir among the werewolf elite. Aaron would handle all the subsequent procedures and renovation work. Of course, all stylistic choices and selections would be based on my preferences and finalized by
After the viewing, I felt a bit tired. I asked if he was tired, as his body still needed more rest. He shook his head, took my hand; and said, “I’m not tired. The sun’s setting. We still have to go shopping, then go home together.”
The line sounded familiar-it was from a movie we’d watched together. The warm sunset light fell on his profile, softening his usually stern face.
“Honey, this looks good. Do you want to try it?” I picked up a new brand of cheese rolls from the shelf and turned to him. I knew he wasn’t hugely into sweets, but I wanted to share these little discoveries with him. I loved seeing him give his full attention to even my smallest questions.
He looked down at me, his focused expression making my heart feel sweet. Just as we were debating whether to get a few different flavors, I suddenly sensed a familiar, unpleasant stare.
I turned around and froze.
It was Landon.
He was standing by another aisle entrance not far away, staring right at us. He looked terrible- haggard, with vacant eyes. He radiated utter degradation and… despair.
Our eyes met for just a second. Instinctively, I almost turned to avoid him. But Leonardo was right behind me.
