Fake Mate Beta Rises to Alpha Heiress (Natalie and Landon) novel Chapter 341

Chapter 341 A Quick Call

Lily’s POV:

Harry nodded hard right away. “Samuel, don’t worry. We believe in repaying a favor twice over -that’s our rule.”

“Not bad. Who taught you that?” Samuel asked, a small smile tugging at his lips as he looked at Harry’s serious face. He ruffled Harry’s hair.

“My sister!” Harry pointed right at me.

Samuel glanced at me, his expression unreadable.

Delilah said, “Mr. Scott… we, we were just upset before. We didn’t mean it. We don’t actually care about the money; we were just worried about our son…”

Josiah echoed, “Yes, yes! You can rest assured. Since Harry is a friend of yours, we would never cause trouble for him.”

They’d switched to sugary, suck-up voices, trying to take back what they’d said. Samuel just rolled his eyes. He walked over to Ezra, muttered a few words, and Ezra nodded fast.

“Let’s go,” Samuel said to us after speaking with Ezra, signaling it was time to leave.

Samuel’s POV:

I hadn’t planned on getting involved. I usually looked down on these lower-class squabbles, thinking participating was beneath me.

I was about to go have a smoke somewhere quiet, but those two vile parents were so loud and obnoxious I couldn’t ignore them.

Three hundred thousand dollars? They had some nerve. Lily was trembling with anger, but still apologizing for her brother’s future. It was… irritating to watch.

So I spoke up, using that tone of voice guaranteed to infuriate, “Three hundred thousand dollars isn’t much. Should be enough to buy your son’s life.”

Seeing their fat faces flush instantly was surprisingly satisfying. Lily told me not to make things worse. I ignored her. Her brother’s eyes-full of grievance, fear, and a stubborn defiance- reminded me of something… something I’d deliberately forgotten long ago.

I asked Harry if he hit Ellis on purpose. He said he was saving someone. Good. I asked if the police were called. They weren’t. The other side was using their influence to bully. I knew that playbook well. I suggested calling the cops. Lily caught on immediately and backed me up.

She said, “It’s about Harry. Thank you. But Mr. Scott, you can’t just help someone halfway.”

I’d expected this. I turned, got my phone, and forwarded a text to her. It was a school admission notice.

After getting back to the hotel, I immediately contacted a friend. I might not be good for much else in Maritime City, but connections were my specialty. Arranging Harry’s transfer was just a quick call.

Seeing her subtle sigh of relief stirred my mischievous side again.

I told her to massage my back-half to mess with her, half… Maybe I really was a bit tired. And I wanted to see her reaction. She overthought it, of course, looking at me like I was about to pounce. “This… isn’t really appropriate,” Lily said.

“Why not? Consider it your way of repaying me. You don’t want to owe me a favor, do you?” I provoked her on purpose.

When she still didn’t move, I gave my assurance. “Relax. I said I wouldn’t touch you, and I won’t. Even if you wanted to be my woman, I’d find it too much trouble.”

She finally gave in.
