“No way,” he said immediately, tightening his embrace and holding my hands. His tone held a hint of teasing. “What’s going on? It’s a happy occasion, yet here you are crying and talking about pinching people?”

His words made me laugh through my tears. “Yes, I’m being unreasonable. Do you regret it?”

“I don’t regret it,” he said without a moment’s hesitation. Then, with perfect clarity, he repeated, “By binding myself to you, I will never regret it.”
