I had almost forgotten about that. Reminded by him, I nodded. “I felt a bit nauseous earlier, but it was just for a moment. It’s passed now.”

“Stomach trouble?” He frowned, starting to sit up.

I knew he wanted to call a doctor and immediately stopped him. “It was probably just a psychological reaction. I feel perfectly fine physically.”

“We’ll still go for a checkup when we get back. For my peace of mind,” he insisted.

“Okay, we’ll go as soon as we’re back,” I agreed obediently.

Seeing me comply, he lay back down. His palms had warmed up again, and through my sleepwear, he gently began massaging my lower abdomen. “Let me rub it for you.”

My heart warmed. Even though I wasn’t uncomfortable anymore, I nodded, leaning into his

care.

Leonardo’s devotion to me ran deep. Whenever I massaged his back, he never let me continue for more than a minute. But when it came to soothing my stomach, he never seemed to tire, no matter how long it took. Even if I pushed his hand away a few times, saying it was enough, he’d start again shortly after.

His palm was warm and firm, moving from gentle presses to slow circles, determined to smooth away every trace of discomfort.

Nestled in his arms, it wasn’t long before my eyelids grew heavy and I drifted into a peaceful sleep.

Leonardo’s POV:

I had woken up when Natalie took the call. Truthfully, I hadn’t slept well these past two nights. A constant, burning ache lingered in my stomach. I knew the fever might be connected to the injury there. I just didn’t dare-or want-to think about how serious it might be.

Long after Natalie fell asleep, drowsiness finally found me.

In the early morning hours, a searing pain in my gut woke me. While Natalie was still sound asleep, I rushed to the bathroom and threw up everything in my stomach.

The next morning at Maritime City, Aaliyah changed into a sharp business suit and went to the Scott Group for the signing, accompanied by people Cameron had sent.

The signing ceremony was formal. As an outsider, I didn’t go in, choosing to wait in the lobby instead.

We arrived early. While I sat, my eyes weren’t idle-I kept watching the entrance. Yesterday, Samuel mentioned Natalie was on leave and wasn’t sure when she’d be back.

I called Cameron to update him. Right after hanging up, I noticed movement by the door.
