Brandon's head snapped toward her, his eyes narrowing. "You want a piece of the factory project?"

"Why not?" Bella smiled smoothly. "I'm a major shareholder. I'm not asking to be CEO. Am I not allowed to take an interest in company affairs? Or would you prefer I call a formal shareholders' meeting—"

"Major shareholder?" Brandon interrupted with a sneer. "How do you even have the nerve to say that? You're not even half a Mercer! You schemed and clawed your way to those shares, and now you stubbornly refuse to let them go, thinking we can't touch you. Let me give you a piece of advice, Bella: stick to your own department and stay in your lane. Don't even think about getting your hands dirty with this. I need this new phone launch to recoup our losses, understand?"
