Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 1408

Brandon's face turned livid. He looked at Bella with such disgust he wanted to take a knife to her face.

"Bella, how do you manage to make being a shameless homewrecker sound so poetic? Is it genetic? Did you inherit this absolute lack of morals from your mother?"

Bella merely shrugged off the insult.

"That's exactly what you're afraid of, isn't it? Because in the eyes of men, Lillian simply doesn't have my allure."

With a final mocking laugh, she turned and strutted out of the office.

Brandon stood frozen, the temperature in his eyes dropping to absolute zero. After a few minutes of seething, he stormed out and headed straight for Martin's office.

Martin usually spent his mornings locked away, refusing to see anyone but his sons. His face was currently sporting vivid, crimson handprints that would take at least three hours to fade. He desperately wished he could ask Lillian for a dose of the Phoenix-7 Recovery Serum to instantly erase the humiliation, but he knew the cutting-edge bio-tech was priceless. He didn't dare bring it up.

When Brandon kicked the door open, Martin jumped, hastily slamming a hand mirror face-down on his desk.

"Don't you knock?!" Martin snapped, clearly embarrassed.

"We had an ironclad agreement, and you blabbed it all to that woman! I don't care how many mistresses you keep. If you want to play around, go wild! But why are you so pathologically obsessed with this one? Is she made of diamonds? Did she drug you to make you this addicted?!"

Brandon's words grew increasingly vile as his temper flared.

Martin winced at the vulgarity, but knowing he was in the wrong, his frail attempt at defiance crumbled.

"Do you have any idea what just happened?" Brandon hissed. "Bella just marched into my office demanding a piece of the factory project. She explicitly stated she wants to use it to get close to the Winthrop family. She literally gloated that she has more sex appeal than Lillian and threatened to steal her man again!"
