Martin's eyes widened in horror.

"What? Did Bella really say that? Maybe you just provoked her, and she said it out of spite? She and Sebastian are still legally married, after all!"

Brandon scoffed. "Married? Does that word mean absolutely anything to people like you? Weren't you married to Mom when you were sleeping around? Didn't Sabrina play the mistress perfectly? Wasn't Lillian married to Sebastian when Bella dug her claws into him? Hearing the word 'marriage' come out of your mouth makes me sick."

Martin's face flushed with anger. "Brandon, don't pick fights for no reason! Even if Bella said those things, she didn't mean it!

"You target her at every turn, so she probably just said whatever would piss you off the most! She doesn't even know the Winthrops, let alone which son we want Lillian to marry!

"Besides, the situation is completely different now. Back then, she and Sebastian were spending all their time together, so feelings naturally developed. Lillian was hiding her genius, playing the boring housewife. Men get tired of that! It was completely normal for Sebastian to stray. But with the Winthrops, Bella can't even get in the same room as Tristan—"
