Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 1425

But Lillian didn't spare Sebastian a single glance, entirely focused on her own matters.

Once Martin's ordeal was over, Sebastian seized the moment before the Mercers left to speak with her.

"Lillian, Noah's Birthday is in two days. I asked him, and he said he wants you at his party.

"He's sincere this time. After spending a few days with his grandfather, he's genuinely starting to accept you.

"I'm not lying. I can call Noah right now, and you can hear the invitation from him yourself."

With that, Sebastian dialed Noah's number. He kept it brief, mentioning he was with Lillian and wanted to invite her to the birthday party.

The phone was on speaker, so everyone in the room could hear Noah's voice.

The Mercers suddenly remembered that Noah's birthday was indeed coming up.

They instantly realized this was a golden opportunity to mend the rift between mother and son.

However, they also knew the relationship between the two was incredibly strained.

Lillian seemed entirely ready to give up on the boy. After all, she was still young; if she wanted children, she could always have more later.

She didn't seem to care whether she had this son or not.

So Noah's attitude was crucial. If he had genuinely changed, it would mean their efforts to influence him hadn't been in vain.

Sure enough, Noah replied over the phone, "Yeah, thanks for asking her, Dad. But I'll write The Birthday Invitation to her myself."

The invitation was real, but he still hadn't called her Mom.

Lillian couldn't be bothered to guess how sincere he actually was.

She simply replied in a cold, detached tone, "Got it."

She didn't say if she would attend. It wasn't a yes, nor a no.

Everyone assumed she would wait for the physical invitation before making up her mind.

Most importantly, Leonard Prescott would never allow it.

That would ruin the chance of Lillian showing up at all.

So, he opted for Noah's Birthday Gala instead.

Since the Mercers were present, Sebastian extended an invitation to them. Even though he despised dealing with them, they had their uses—at least they had helped coach Noah, and it seemed to be working.

On that basis alone, he invited them to the party.

But he made one thing explicitly clear: "We look forward to having Noah's grandfather and uncles there on time."

He ruthlessly excluded Sabrina and Bella, treating them like the outcasts they were.

Especially Bella. There was no way she was setting foot at that party.

Sebastian didn't even want to look at her right now, and he was terrified she would pull some stunt to manipulate Noah again.
