Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 1427

If Sebastian ever changed his mind and wanted Lillian back, then she could simply choose between the Winthrop family and Sebastian. Either way, the Mercers wouldn't lose out. That was a guaranteed fact.

For once, Martin wasn't blinded by his love for Sabrina. Ignoring whether the slap marks on his face made him look pathetic in front of Sebastian, he smiled and said, "Don't worry, the three of us will definitely be there.

"It's Noah's birthday, after all. This is a top priority for the Mercers."

Brandon and Colin nodded in agreement. Only Lillian remained completely indifferent, not offering a single word.

Leonard gently squeezed her hand. His eyes clearly conveyed the message: she didn't have to be morally blackmailed by anyone. Noah might be her son, but he was also a rebellious brat who treated his mother's enemy like family. There was no need for her to suffer for his sake.

Lillian offered a faint smile. She understood perfectly. She wasn't about to bend over backward for Noah, and she certainly wouldn't let him break her heart.

After dealing with Debbie, Sebastian had been desperate to see Lillian. But now that he was here, he forced himself to stay rational.

He couldn't come across as clingy, or she would be annoyed.

He also couldn't show just how intensely he wanted her back. Right now, he lacked the status and the leverage to openly reclaim her.

Thankfully, Noah's Birthday Gala provided the perfect excuse for today's visit.

It was a brilliant cover, allowing him to act completely above board.

But having delivered the message and invited the relevant guests, he had no reason to linger.

With a polite smile, he bid his farewells and left.

Brandon leaned in close to Lillian. "Lillian, it's Noah's birthday. As his mother, you're definitely going, right?

"Noah showed you some goodwill today. That's a great start. You two have been estranged for years; it's time to fix that bond.

"How about this—we'll all go together?"

Lillian kept it vague. "We'll see."

But Lillian didn't dwell on it.

Brandon's intention was obvious—he wanted them to arrive together.

That way, they could present a united front to the public, sending a clear message to the high society circles.

The Mercers had been trying to get back in her good graces for a while. Though she hadn't officially returned to the family, broadcasting that they were on speaking terms would likely cause their stock prices to surge.

Everyone knew her relationship with the Mercers was toxic, that she had legally severed ties with them. But no one knew she was currently tolerating their presence.

If the public saw them together, it would change everything!

Brandon was thrilled by the possibilities, completely unable to hide the smug grin on his face.

Lillian saw that smile and immediately knew exactly what he was plotting.
