As Noah handed the finished invitation to Sebastian, he asked softly, "Dad, right now... I actually have two moms, don't I?"
Sebastian instantly knew Noah was talking about Bella, and his expression turned freezing cold.
"Noah, let me make this very clear to you. Bella is not a good person. Stop thinking about her.
"She's already corrupted you. I will never let her see you again.
"She has a rotten reputation, a heart full of malice, and she isn't half as capable as your real mother. Yet she delusionally tries to steal what isn't hers.
"She tore our family apart, and I will never forgive her.
"Yes, I married her. But your grandparents never recognized her status.
"My marriage to her is completely over. She will never be your mother. I'm already in the middle of a divorce lawsuit with her, and it will be finalized very soon.
"Once you understand more, you'll realize she's nothing but a bloodsucking leech. She doesn't have the skills to build her own empire like your mother does; all she wants is to drain me dry.
"Me, and the Mercer family."
Sebastian's disgust for Bella had reached an absolute boiling point.
Noah had only been testing the waters. He desperately wanted Bella to be at his party.
After all, she was technically his mother now, and he wanted to use this chance to finally call her Mom to her face.
He knew she would be thrilled to hear it.
But things weren't going his way. Sebastian made it crystal clear: Bella was banned from the party.
This was his birthday! Shouldn't he get to decide who came?
Instead, he had to invite someone he didn't even want to see, while the person he missed was banned.
It felt awful.
Noah was upset, but he didn't dare argue.
After all, she was doing everything she could to repel Sebastian's advances and force him to back off.
When Lester relayed this to Sebastian, the CEO simply sat in his office, silently lighting a cigarette.
She was still keeping her guard up against him. It made sense; after the divorce, she probably didn't have much affection left for him.
She had been so resolute when leaving, not taking a single dime, even returning all the bridal gifts.
Comparing that to Bella... Sebastian had every reason to be thoroughly repulsed by his current wife.
Sebastian had told Noah all of this.
Yet, maybe because the boy was just too young, he still clung to Bella.
She was just a filthy slut. Was she really worth obsessing over?
Noah wasn't a toddler anymore; he was almost seven. It had been nearly two years since Lillian was released from the hospital, and in all that time, his opinion of her hadn't shifted an inch. He still stubbornly believed Bella was the best mother he could ever have.
