Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 1500

Lillian Mercer was so stunned she literally couldn't speak.

If anyone else witnessed this level of extravagant wealth from Leonard Prescott, they would be green with envy.

For a fleeting moment, she wondered what she had possibly done to deserve this. How could she accept such an overwhelming gift?

Even though Leonard was currently her partner, and even though he spoiled her to death, she still felt a deep unease about accepting so much.

Seeing Lillian fall silent, Leonard's expression shifted into panic.

"What is it? Are you upset? Do you think I overstepped by doing this without asking you?"

Without waiting for her to answer, Leonard swiftly kicked Ethan Hayes in the leg.

"See? This is all because you couldn't keep your mouth shut. Who told you to talk? How many times did I order you not to breathe a word of this?"

Ethan scrambled away, rubbing his backside. "Boss, I swear I didn't mean to! I didn't want to say anything, but Brandon Mercer was being so shameless! If it weren't for him, I never would have opened my mouth!"

Yes, yes, Brandon Mercer was utterly shameless.

Lillian sighed. "It's not his fault, and I'm not mad at him. Leonard, come back here."

Leonard stopped chasing Ethan and immediately returned to Lillian's side. "I'll lock all the deeds back in the vault and give you the passcode. You can access them whenever you want, okay?"

Lillian's eyes grew slightly red. "Leonard, are you an idiot? Why would you give me all of this? These estates are worth an absolute fortune. If you gave me one—like Halfridge Villas—I could barely justify accepting it.

But... a stack of title deeds taller than me? I just... I feel like I haven't earned this."

Leonard's gaze softened. "Who else am I going to give them to? Aside from my parents, no other relatives matter to me, and I can't exactly go throwing mansions at strangers on the street.

My parents definitely don't need me buying them real estate. Other than you, I genuinely have no one else to give them to.

Oh, right, I did give Ethan a dozen or so places, mostly just so he has somewhere comfortable to stay when he's on business trips."

Lillian stared at him. "..."

No wonder Ethan was so violently loyal and dedicated.

If a boss was handing out luxury real estate by the dozen, forget loyalty—employees would gladly lay down their lives for him.
