Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 156

When Bella caught the look on Sebastian's face out of the corner of her eye, a dull ache pierced her heart.

But in this situation, her focus remained on the stage. She glanced at Brandon and Colin. The two brothers hadn't moved, which meant no security guards were going to stop Lillian.

Only Martin was trembling with rage. He glared at Lillian, his voice low but filled with menacing pressure, "You insolent girl, what do you think you're doing?"

Lillian held up a document and gave Victor a look.

Victor tapped a few times on his phone, and the agreement in her hand was projected onto the large screen that had been looping Martin and Sabrina's wedding photos, ensuring every guest could see it clearly.

Lillian's voice was sharp. "Father, do you remember this agreement you signed with Grandmother after you smashed a vase on Mother's head and left her with brain damage? When you were so desperate to marry Sabrina?

"As everyone can see, Grandmother wrote it in black and white: 'You will not marry that harlot Sabrina over my dead body. The day you bring her into this family, all my shares in the company will be divided equally among my three grandchildren.'"

As Lillian spoke, Brandon and Colin, who had been about to intervene, froze in place.

Shares?

If their grandmother's shares were distributed to them, their combined stake would far exceed Martin's.

The thought made them pause and carefully weigh their options.

With no one stopping her, Lillian produced a second document and projected it as well.

"So, today..."

Lillian turned to face all the guests.

"Today, I have voiced my grandmother's objection, but I also regret that her objection is legally invalid. Since you have your marriage certificate, I hereby declare that the marriage of Martin and Sabrina is officially valid."

With those words, Lillian swiftly tore up the first agreement, the one detailing the division of shares signed by Martin and the old matriarch.

Lillian ripped apart the words 'You will not marry that harlot Sabrina over my dead body,' but she couldn't erase the label she had just firmly branded onto Sabrina in the minds of every guest present.

As the shredded paper fluttered to the ground, Sabrina's eyes rolled back, and she fainted.
