Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 162

Perhaps Victor would agree, for the love of the craft.

The initial ripple of admiration in Sebastian's heart and eyes slowly faded amidst the growing chorus of ridicule.

Bella, who hadn't missed the change in Sebastian's expression, finally sauntered over to Lillian.

“Lillian, I remember you didn't study this in college. What was your major again? Business and Management?”

“I did study Business and Management,” Lillian confirmed. That's what her grandmother had wanted her to study. But Bella didn't know that she had earned dual degrees in both her undergraduate and graduate studies.

It made sense that Bella wouldn't know.

Bella's information came from Martin and Lillian's two brothers. They never knew about her academic performance because they had never cared to ask.

When she had declared she wanted to attend Sebastian's university to follow in his footsteps, Martin had made some donation to the school, a new library or something. At that time, he had offhandedly learned her major was Business and Management.

She remembered her grandmother worrying she would be overworked with two majors, but she had supported her unconditionally, providing all the logistical help she needed.

Sebastian probably thought she only studied business too.

“And what makes you so sure I'm going to fail?” Lillian asked.

At this, Bella burst into a fit of laughter. “I’m only being blunt because I consider you my sister, and we’re family now. Look, the code from your company has already been leaked online. Anyone in the industry can see what it is, but I guess you can't, can you? A dog walking across a keyboard could write better code than this. Of course it's doomed to fail.”

As Bella spoke, Victor's brow furrowed. He angrily pulled out his phone. He was a programming god. His work was brilliant. Who the hell was this woman insulting? Who was she calling worse than a dog?

Only Lillian, instead of getting angry, smiled back. “I agree. A dog could step on a keyboard and produce something better than this. I’m surprised you have such self-awareness, Miss Ward!”
