Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 165

“What is everyone talking about? It’s so lively here.”

Sabrina's voice cut through the whispers and snickers of the crowd.

Martin, walking beside her, also greeted the guests with a smile.

After all, they were all part of the same circle, a circle Martin had been desperately trying to break into. So, he knew everyone here.

Martin said softly, “Everyone, why are you all standing here? We haven't even had a chance to serve the wedding cake. Brandon, Colin, Bella, go and cut the cake for our guests to enjoy.”

Bella was about to say something, but Sabrina gripped her hand. Sabrina was smiling, but she gave a slight shake of her head.

Her look said, *Mom's here. Get out of this mess for now.*

Bella managed to calm herself and made a temporary retreat.

Everyone noticed that Lillian was also Martin’s daughter, yet when he asked his children to serve the cake, he only called his two sons and Bella, completely ignoring Lillian.

Lillian was long accustomed to this treatment and didn't care in the slightest.

When Brandon and Colin arrived, they were clueless about what had happened before Martin sent them off with Bella to serve the cake.

With her daughter out of the way, Sabrina finally had room to perform.

“Please forgive us, everyone. My daughter here is a very simple person. She spent her childhood focused on her studies, and as she grew up, she devoted herself entirely to her career.

Everyone, I would also appreciate it if you could look out for my daughter here in the business world.”

As she was about to bow again in gratitude, Lillian jumped back, creating a wide gap between herself and Sabrina’s phony act.

“I never approved of you marrying my father. But on second thought, since you two are so eager to be together, you might as well be shackled to each other. At least that way, you can't harm anyone else.

Since you're all one big happy family, I can leave at any time.

I’ve said it before: I only spent the Mercer family’s money until the day I turned eighteen.

Since then, I haven't taken a single cent from them. As for my shares in the company, I had my lawyer transfer them to my so-called father long ago.”
